I'm clueless...So my RE nurse left a message and told me my progesterone came back low and dr wants me to take it at the end of this cycle...but I thought I read that progesterone induces menses?
I think the withdrawal of progesterone if you aren't pregnant is what starts your period, I think taking it in the two week wait should encourage implantation. I've not had to take it before so don't know 100%
I'm not sure if you would have to continue taking it if you successfully conceive, I think the best thing will be to ask your doctor exactly what they want you to do I imagine you'll need to start at a very specific time
From what I have read, you take it for the second half of your cycle and if you get pregnant you continue to take it through the first trimester then you tapper off slowly (although not everyone suggests the slow tapper). Ask your Dr. what exactly they want. Progesterone is the baby making hormone so it could be extremely helpful for ttc! It may also lengthen your LP giving the egg more time to implant. All good things.
Progesterone encourages implantation. Low progesterone can cause you to not implant and end up with a chemical pregnancy and starting AF. Low progesterone in early pregnancy is often treated with supplementation to prevent early miscarriages until your body gets on track.
