Progesterone Test

My chart has been acting funny the last few months. I usually have a significant temp dip around 5 - 6dpo, as well as spotting for days before my period. My naturopath thinks that these are both due to low progesterone, as well as that low progesterone may have potentially caused my previous two miscarriages.

I was excited to see what my cycle did this month since I've been detoxifying and taking Progesto-Mend (a natural remedy) and 50mg of B6, as well as my prenatal. Unfortunately, my temp took a HUGE dip this morning.

I called my naturopath who has agreed to write up a requisition for a progesterone test. I go at 7dpo, right? What can I expect? Does this look/sound like low progesterone to you?

Does it dip and then stay low or does it dip and then rise again? Mine used to do that sometimes, would dip and then stay low but never quite below the coverline. It didn't always do it, only sometimes. Other times it would just keep going up and up and up and I would get hopeful, then I'd get AF before it even dropped. It'd drop after bleeding had started. But, again, only sometimes.

If you have a regular pattern of low temps around mid luteal phase it might be progesterone. Does it go below your coverline, though?

Last month, my temp dipped at 6dpo to just above the coverline and then went back up. The dip though was the same day I started spotting.

This month, today's temp went well below the coverline. Of course, I'll have to wait and see in the days ahead whether it goes back up and/or spotting begins.

Jessa, I don't know if this will be of help to you, but sounds like I had exactly the same problem - spotting starting around 6 dpo every month.
I went to see a Traditional Chinese Medicine fertility specialist five months ago and she prescribed a huge amount of herbs that I brew into a tea, along with monthly acupuncture sessions. I was extremely skeptical but desperate - ttc my first child at 39 and truly believing that time was running out for me and my husband.
Slowly but surely, over the course of the 5 months, the spotting changed, ever so slightly each month - this month was month 5, I had no spotting at all, and conceived!
I would highly recommend this avenue as an alternative to western medicine that really works!
Good luck

If you start spotting at 6dpo then that is indicative of a short luteal phase.
