Progesterone to get AF after mc?

So, I have a bunch of leftover progesterone that I was prescribed when I was pregnant. I have read that doctors also prescribe it to women who don't get their AF for a long time after a mc. I think you take it for 10 days and then stop and usually AF comes within a few days after. It's been more than 5 weeks since my mc.

Does anyone have experience with this? Did it work?
