Hi ladies. Just wondering if anyone else is on the progesterone tablets to help prevent them from going into preterm labour?
I went to the hospital last night as I was getting BH every 1-3 minutes. They monitored my contractions and sure enough - they were super regular. So they did a fetal fibronectin test on me, (it's a vag swab, they look for a protein that is released before/during labour) which came back negative. With a negative result it means that there is a 95% chance that labour will not start for the next 10 - 14 days.
Dr. did say I am now at a higher risk for preterm birth though and prescribed me progesterone tablets 100mg, which I am to take 3 times a day.

Anyone else in a similar situation?

I have an incompetent cervix & at risk for premature labor...I take 200mg progesterone pills 4 times a day.

I'm also at a greater risk and doing fetal fibronectin tests every 2 weeks and taking pills because I have an irritated uterus and don't feel the contractions that I do have, I hope that i make it until at least 36 weeks.

I have incompetent cervix and im also on the progesterone suppositories 200mg daily until 37 weeks.

I did FFN tests every two weeks and daily suppositries too. We did get to 40+2 after a 27 weeker.

I also had 4 positive FFNs which amounted to nothing :) they are very unreliable, only negatives tend to be reliable.

I'm on the 100mg tablet per day since 16weeks. My OB/Gyn will be taking me off at 34 weeks.

I had progesterone injections in my last pregnancy, didnt get offered a tablet (wouldve been good, the injections hurt!) She was delivered as a 32 weeker so they didnt work for us but my OB/GYN has had alot of success with other women:thumbup: FFN is a very accurate indicator if its negative, for me though each time its gone postive I've delivered within 2 weeks:shrug:

I am currently taking makena which is a progesterone shot. Never was offered the pill.. However I went to the doctor and my cervix was dialated. Good luck
