Is anyone on progesterone creams? I've just found out I'm pregnant again early days not 4weeks till Wednesday I'm hoping to get a doctors appointment for Monday. With my history of miscarriages two back to back and this pregnancy was after a normal cycle.

How did you go about getting the progesterone cream? When in your pregnancy did you start taking it?

Hi. I've had 3 mcs in total and have one son. With my son my prog levels were normal. I'm 4 weeks pregnant again and am now taking prog sups. 400mg twice a day. I figure I can't hurt but it could help. My friend gave them to me, she had them prescribed. M sure your doctor would prescribe you some cream or tablets. Good luck with yor pregnancy x

I've had six mc and two kids. I've used progesterone pills for four of my pregnancies. I took it with my son, my daughter, my current pregnancy, and with my fifth mc (it wasn't a viable pregnancy from the start and I would have mc whether or not I was using progesterone). I take a 100mg capsule twice a day from the day I get a bfp til I'm 12-13 wks. Haven't used the cream or the suppositories so I can't help you there but my doctor had to prescribe the capsules for me.

I bought progesterone cream from the web. No idea if it helped this one stick but it's the only one I used it with. Think I used a brand called wellsprings

I've been prescribed 400mg of progesterone fingers crossed it helps stick started using last night at 3weeks 5days went for bloods today currently waiting for results so nervous!!

I had 2 mc's and combined with symptoms and short LP, my Dr put me on 100mg once daily suppositories. Supposedly the suppositories are absorbed directly into your uterus. But I'm now over 17 weeks!

I heard the suppositories are better because they can get to the uterus quicker and the pills don't work for everyone because they take longer to get to where they need to be and have to be metabolized by the liver first. They seem to be working for me, though. The only thing I notice when I am taking them is I get really drowsy for about an hour after I take a pill.

I've got the supportries so far no symptoms, only second night using them, you do get a funny discharge from them but its worth it.

It lovely to hear such positive fed back about progesterone supplement especially after miscarriage

Hi ladies

My consultant prescribed me 1 x 400mg progesterone (cyclogest) pessary nightly. I had two miscarriages this year, and I found that I wasn’t ovulating until about cd 19-20 so thought maybe short LP. Anyway, I am now almost 5 weeks pregnant and been taking the cycolgest for about a week now – and this cycle I actually ovulated slightly earlier (got +opk around cd14/15 so maybe LP was a bit longer this time?). Im praying that this baby is okay and am happy taking the pessaries to help out.

In terms of symptoms, I have been getting thrush – had it slightly before bfp then once started taking the prog it got alot more intense, but taking a cream that my doctor prescribed me for it now. I can deal with the thrush as long as I get my beautiful healthy baby!! :-) xo

this might be a silly question, but..... whats the difference between a pessary and a suppository? are they the same thing??

I can say the only side effect I had was a lot of spotting, they irritated my cervix. The spotting has stopped since I stopped using them :) But totally worth it!

The term pessary mean is inserted through vagina, and suppository through rectum but I have used them through rectum it is less mess, and I feel it is absorbed better.

Mine are inserted vaginally too, they can be used the other way to.

Had my progesterone levels back today at 3weeks and 6days - 79 does anyone else have any results I can compare with or any information on these levels?

15 is the lower level of normal I think. Not certain but I do know that 79 is very healthy

Not sure if this helps but my progesterone level at 10+5 was 14.3. I think it drops as you get further into the pg once the placenta takes over (correct me if I'm wrong here) and my dr said 14 is very good for almost 11 weeks. I've never had my levels checked before this. I was just prescribed progesterone as I typically mc between 7 and 9 weeks and my dr felt it was a strong sign my progesterone levels were dropping way too early. I have spotted while taking the progesterone but it's always been from a hematoma.

I stated on a cream when I found out I was pregnant. I have had 2 MC's so I wanted to do something to hopefully make a difference this time around, I had my first scan today and there was a little bean, yolk sak and heartbeat(this was a first time seeing a heartbeat) so I am going to stay on it until I am in the 2nd trimester

After several losses i went on progesterone (even though no progesterone issue showed up) for my last three pregnanies. On my first pregnancies i didn't start until 6 weeks when i lost her twin and everything was fone from then on
On my others i went on progesterone at 4 weeks. No problems whatsoever. I don't think i would ever have managed to carry without it.

Cyclogest pessaries twice daily 400mg.

On number one i stopped taking them at 18 weeks.
On number two i stopped taking then at 15 weeks.
This time i stopped at 14 weeks.
