Hey everyone, whilst i've got a few minutes I decided I'd write my birth story :)

Well it all started on the 2nd March at about 12:45pm I started getting these really bad cramps in my stomach, ones that i've felt before, I immediately knew what they were and contacted the midwife just to alert her. So during the afternoon I had a warm bath and anything I could do to make myself comfortable. My husband came home from work once I had contacted him and his Mum came over to collect Jamie and Aaron.

By 8:15pm the contractions were 5 minutes apart and getting a lot stronger.

By 9:15pm we were in the delivery suite and I was hooked up to fetal heart monitors etc and was given a scan which caused much debate about where I was in pregnancy. I was supposed to be 35 weeks but scans were showing me as 36/37 weeks (it wasnt decided until he was born that I had been 36 weeks and 5 days pregnant)

Anyway the next few hours I basically slept, had morphine and gas and air and didn't really wake up until I was 9cm dilated and ready to push.

At 4:30am I began pushing, just with gas and air and the morphine, at first it was a very slow progress and baby didnt want to budge, but one big push soon got him further down and soon I had pushed his head out but baby's heartbeat was starting to drop and I began to panic. The midwife and my husband had to help me remain calm and encourage me to continue pushing.

Baby Ollie was born at 5:34am limp, blue and lifeless. It was the most nerve racking and heart wrenching 9 minutes of my life I was crying hysterically and just praying i'd hear my boys cry. At 5:43am he took his first breath and let out the most enormous cry! I cried with happiness that we finally had our boy in our arms.

We decided to name him after the doctor who saved his life, Doctor Joseph Graham, as well as my husbands deceased brother Levi.

Ollie Joseph Levi Clarke born 3rd March 2012 weighing 6lb 7oz

Here are a few pictures of our little Ollie-Pop! I love the last one :happydance:
