I have an appointment at the hospital to have a tubal patency test done and because I spot everyday my ob-gyn prescribed me 5 tablets of 5mg Provera so that I'm not spotting/bleeding for the test. Everyday I spot and/or bleed. I don't keep track of my cycle days because I don't ovulate and I don't get an actual period. That being said, when should I start taking my prescription? The appointment is in 3 weeks, so I was thinking of taking it next week, then I'll get a period for about a week I'm assuming, then I should be good to go? The pharmacist didn't really explain how Provera works and I can't really find anything online. Any information will help!!

I would call your doctor BUT after stopping provera it should take 2-10 days for a period to come. While on provera your not supposed to get a period

I started my Provera prescription 4 days ago because I didn't want to take any chances of bleeding/spotting for my tubal patency test. You're right though, my spotting stopped as soon as I started taking it. I have been quite crampy so I'm hoping that it's working :)
