Provera and AF?

I have this question in my head which I am unable to find answer for on the internet. Last month, in May, since I was late and was almost on the verge of missing of my AF, my gyn prescribed me Provera. I took the 5 mg 5-day dose and I got AF within 2 days after the dosage. AF lasted for the usual 5 days. But, it has been now 4 days late than my usual cycle and my AF isn't here. Did any of you experience a delay in return of AF after provera's use? I have very tender and extremely sore and heavy breasts right now. I usually have this as PMS but this time it is worse. By the way, I have PCOS but I ovulate on my own pretty well and I'm very regular on my cycles because of low-carb diet. But since May, my body feels messed up. Lots of breaking out on my face which looks terrible Anybody experiencing the same ?

I don't have personal experience there hun, but I assume that any kind of chemical alterations can throw your cycle off for a couple of months afterwards, sorry I couldn't be of more help. Good Luck!!

Thanks mammag for your input. I am not sure how long I will have to wait for AF to come. I am contemplating to take a test anyway, just in case!

Did I mention that sore breasts are a good indicator that you ovulated? So if you are not pregnant (of course I hope you are) AF should arrive for you on it's own soon

Yes mammag, you are right. Actually sore breasts have always been my reliable PMS. It is only this time it feels much worse than the usual. It may be because my last cycle was medicated that this time my body has a lot of enthusiasm for churning out AF. I just did a POAS test and it is negative (though I secretly wished for a positive result). Hoping that AF comes soon!

Here's an update on my AF - I'm 6 days late now but I have spotted very lightly (4-5 drops only when I wipe - sorry TMI) yesterday. Also, I had mild-medium cramping in my back every now and then all day yesterday. Not painful but noticeable enough). I have also observed that the pain was more on the center-right side of my lower back. Not sure what's going on. I do know I ovulated this month because I had lots of EWCM for a week. Anybody experienced the same? I can't go to a doc yet because I will be traveling. I also took a HPT couple of days ago and it was a BFN. Confused and worried here!

We are definitely kindred spirits. 7 days late, 5 days off of provera and nothing.

Symptoms:
Acne
Sore Bbs
Slight cramping in upper abdomen
Migraines off and on
Chills
Back ache
Achey legs
BLOATING
and I've been very cranky, but hey When your body is doing crazy stuff and their really is no true answer for it yet..you tend to go a little psycho. Lol

Oh yeah..bfn all around.
