So I have a hypothyroid (underactive thyroid) problem that im currently takiing medication for. and I take provera to jump start AF. i want to start taking Soy Iso to help ovulate.

but it says not to if you have a thyroid problem. or it can cause hypothyroid problem?
Anyone else have this happen and talked to their doctor about it?

Hi there , I have hypothyroid due to hashimotos disease, have had this since I was in my early teens. Any kind of soy is not recommended when you have hypothyroid as soy diminishes the ability for your thyroid to make what is needed for both your t3 and t4.

All of my dr's have agreed with this, even if you are taking meds to control your thyroid, hypothyroidism has its own set of problems when trying to ttc. It wouldn't hurt to ask your dr before starting soy iso, however there are other things that you can take to help you ovulate without messing with your thyroid more, I'm sure they can help you out with that and recommend what might be better.

Hope this helps and good luck :flower:

I actually have taken vitex but i never actually ovulated so maybe i will try it this cycle!

I know the herbs can take a few cycles to obtain the best benefit. I previously had bought fertilitea that has vitex and other herbs in it as well. It wasn't too bad, almost like a mint tea.

The name is Fertilitea, it comes in a gold package

I think some might that have herbal stuff. I bought it online from a drugstore. I think CVS and walgreens website have it, not sure of the actual stores. early-pregnancy-tests.com has it too
