provera stopped hot flashes but did NOT bring down AF

interesting note: after 1 month straight of continuous hot flashes, and no AF, thought i was menopausal, doc said no and precribed me provera. i took it, for 10 days, and instantly it stopped my hot flashes! but after 14 days, after taking it, no AF

so, tomorrow, i'm calling the doc and demanding an ultrasound. i think maybe i have PCOS, slightly, maybe, or maybe uterine fibroids. what do you ladies think????? need input please
