I just recently started pumping so my DH can help feed and will be easier to leave the house. I have a few questions for those who pump. How do you give it? Do you heat or just give cold? How about if you want to leave the house. Can you just take it and let it warm up on its own, keep in diaper bag or should you warm up before you leave? If they don't finish a bottle can you put in fridge and use next feeding if it is just a few hours or so you just throw away? I'm a FTM so this is all new to me.

Left at room temperature, breast milk is good for 5 hours. If you put it in the fridge, it's good for 5 days. If you freeze it, it can last months. So I would say, if you're going to be out for less than 5 hours, there's no need to have it cold at all (unless you're going to be out in the heat or something, then I would start out with cold milk and let it slowly warm to room temp over time). I never give it "warm", but I will warm it up to room temperature if I'm taking it out of the fridge to give to her.

Hope that helps. :)

My lo will only take it warmed, we tried it out the fridge but she won't take it. I wouldn't warm it multiple times but it lasts pretty well so I'd use it later if needed.I hadn't given it away from home yet but I think I'd take it cold and warm it when I needed it.
