Purple line, true/false?*PICS in spoiler post 3*

Just had DH look at it, he said purple all the way to the top, but I know I am not fully dilated, so I guess the theory is not proven.

But yes, I read this the other night too. Apparently it's one way that your midwife or OB/GYN can tell how close you are to giving birth if you decline the vaginal checks.

I have to ask, how the HECK did you see your butt crack to notice it was purple, let alone take a photo?

During pregnancy a woman's vulva gets darker anyway and since your butt crack is in the same region, I'm not sure it's anything that could tell you with any accuracy what's going on.

Say what?! Mine is still piglet pink. Mind you, I never got the line down my belly with any of my kids and I can't even tell you what color my buttcrack was because I'd only heard that theory last night. Will be keeping a look out closer to D-day I think.

I bent over and looked in the mirror Probably quite a funny sight. Taking the picture was harder, had to use the timer on the phone and hope for the best.

It was much easier to get DH to check. He said it was all pretty purplish down there though, like extra blood flow. Maybe it's just because I'm so pale skinned?

I can imagine how difficult that must have been!! OMG!!

Yeah I'm pale skinned too. I blame it on my Scottish, Irish and English ancestry. Maybe we are just naturally veiny and purple for that reason.
