Bugaboo over a maclaren anyday, some of them can be used from newborn but most people use them for their toddler :flow:

Quin was in a parent facing stroller untill he was like 6 months old, and in a maclaren you cant do that

I have the maclaren xt buggy. and it does say suitable from birth it came with a headhugger for a newborn. However I wouldn't of liked to put kian in it from birth I preferred having him parent facing in the quinny buzz till he was around 8 months and then when he starting wanting to see were he wanted to go I got the maclaren , I've seen you can make the maclaren xlr into a travel system though they sell the carseat which I'm sure can fit onto it and u can also get a carrycot / cacoon type thing to go on it, have a look on the Mothercare website xx

I wouldn't put a newborn in a Maclaren. I also wouldn't rely solely on baby wearing for 6 months, especially with my LUMP of a child! I also wouldn't buy a Bugaboo unless I was like a millionaire :p I'd suggest just getting something that can be used from newborn and converts into more of a 'toddler' pushchair. I had the Babystyle Oyster from when Noah was 6 months (which could have been used from birth if I'd got the carrycot) until just recently at 16/17 months when we got a Maclaren, and I resold my Oyster xx

I really really do rate the Maclaren, they are fantastic!! how about getting the travel system? I kind of wish I got the Maclaren travel system now x

I have that maclaren ^^ I wouldn't put a newborn in it without the carrycot, which is about £60 on top of the pushchair. If you're planning to babywear then I'd say it was a good bet for when LO is a few months old...

ETA: I wouldn't get the bee - it's too small for a lot of toddlers! Think the bee plus is bigger?

A lot of pushchairs do say suitable form birth but I defffo wouldn't put a newborn in one, I just think they deserve to be warm and cosy and I don't think a pushchair offers this. Like a couple of others suggested, what about a travel system. Or Kiddicare do their own brand or pushchairs and prams that look fab and don't break the bank. I quite like the look of the kiddicare imax and it's less than £200 for the lot xx

I had this for Riley, and i had him in the car seat and carrycot until 6 months, then the parent facing pushchair seat until 9 months. After that i bought the petite star zia, in my opinion i hate seeing newborns in 'buggies'

Y'all would hate America. :haha: We don't really use proper prams here, at all. Babies go in the carseat on the stroller until 4 or so months and then into the stroller.

But you barely use pushchairs there as far as I've gathered? I use the pushchair like every day, and its not good for them to be in a carseat all day every day when tiddly so we need proper newborn prams :p

Nope, not really. No public transportation, nothing really within walking distance besides a general store...

We drive everywhere. The stroller gets used in the mall or if we're going to an outside event...or if we take a walk.

i put my LO i a stoller just like a maclaren from new born.

there much lighter

smaller fit in more cars

another option i would consider is the chicco lightway thats the one i have. if you can lie it flat you can put a new born in it. a sling will be great for the first 4ish months if you have a good back and small baby

I personally didn't like the idea of Jake facing out when he was newborn. He is 1 now and is now happy to face outwards but I kept him parent facing as long as I could as we would chat to each other and I would explain what we could see etc... but now he is older he likes to see where he is going. I also would prefer a newborn to lie properly flat rather than recline. But that's just me. What about a travel system. Then you won't need to buy more than one pram. I have the mothercare spin https://www.madeformums.com/news/images/MothercareSpin.jpg

you can also fit a car seat onto it. There are loads of other travel systems which do the same thing basically so you have everything in one pram/buggy :)
