Hi there,

I have "slight" PCOS, and was originally told by my specialist, that clomid SHOULD be working.... Well it hasn't! I tried Clomid x4months = no luck, then Clomid/Fermera mixed = no luck. I have had SO many vaginal ultrasounds & Progestone tests, you wouldn't believe! All to say that they're NO follicles...yippe.

My doctor (whom I trust), wants me to go on birth control for 1month in hopes to "jump start" my body before trying the meds again. Has anyone tried this before? I remember after I decided to stop taking "the pill" before, my periods were clockwork regular for a few months... Could this ACTUALLY work?

We've been trying for SO long, I've taken pills that DON'T work each month...I'm just so tired of it. I want my bundle of joy

PLEASE anyone have any suggestions, support, advise... I'd love to hear it.

Thanks & Good luck to you all!!!

WOW!!! My fertility doctor recommended the same thing for me and I was a bit upset. I feel like I'm going backwards. I have 2 cyst on my left ovaries and was told before we could try clomid again (I've had in 3 times in the past and still no baby though I did ovulate) the cyst need to go down, but really go away. So I am starting the birth control pill tomorrow for 1 month. On Day 3 of my next cycle I am to go in for yet another ultrasound to see if there are no cyst. From there we'll decide the next step...

I don't think BC will "jump start" your cycles. I think it is what messed up my cycles and caused my PCOS. I had absolutely no cycle issues before BC and as soon as I came off I had PCOS symptoms. I would find another doctor if they're pushing BC.

Your right, I think long to B.C use is BAD! But this is only for x3weeks. Last time I took BIRTHCONTROL for 1month, I was clockwork for 4 months after... So I hoping it does work. It is actually commonly used to "reset" hormones. As for getting a new doctor, I do t think that'll happen... He is very good, and is the only endocrinologist reproductive doctor where I live.... I have to trust he knows more abut this, then myself :)

Swtshae: do you have pcos?

I haven't been diagnosed with PCOS. We've been TTC for almost 2 years. The past 3 months I've been going to a fertility specialist. Each time I've had an ultrasound on Day 3of my cycle, I've had a cyst. This past Friday I went in again to see if we wanted to start clomid. I have 2 cyst on my left ovaries. So, my doctor recommended 1 month of birth control to help with the cyst. I've also had cyst in the past, but again just haven't been diagnosed. What are the symptoms?
