query ??

wannabemummy - Im sorry to hear you lost the baby. Losing weight is very hard especially when there is PCOS. Well done for losing 3 stones! Thats a lot! If you can lose 3 stones then I know you can lose to your goal!! Good luck
Have you move countries for fertility treatment? Is there any countries particular good with fertility treatments? Just out of interest.

Thank you.

We moved counties rather than countries......we moved from Surrey to Berkshire, as our fs was vile but headed up the department so couldn't see anyone else. I understand that fs' aren't emotionally involved but they are in a caring profession so should care!

Thank you fr the good luck.....its so hard to stay motivated to lose weight. I've struggled with feeling depressed recently....lttc is a touch journey.

Yes it is. LTTTC is very depressing and tough but I guess we just have to stay as strong as possible and move on. We all have our moments when we feel so down and the we stand and be fine for a while then we drop again and thats how life is moving. I really hope you do see a BFP.

Oh my mistake I read country. How is it in Berkshire? How are the doctors there?

No you haven't upset me, been busy sorry haven't had chance to reply. How are you?

optimistic13 - You dont need to apologise! Theres nothing wrong in asking, I know how it feels. When I first went to the Fertility clinic I would ask so many question on the forum. It is very nice to read other peoples TTC stories and sometimes its so similar.
Yeah it is tough having a failed IVF but it is not too bad as I thought it would be. I think thats because I have read many peoples first time IVF does not work (Its not the case for all). Yeah 6 years/4 years are all long years of waiting. Do you feel like its much longer than that? I feel I have been TTC for ages!!

My weight is still not good enough. Currently my BMI is Overweight, I want it o get to Healthy. Iv still got long way to go but yes better than before. Im sorry to hear about your IBS - So can you eat low carb food? Does that irritate your body? Wow you have been on Metformin for long time, maybe thats why you saw an effect in weight. I was on Metformin for only like 3 months. I did not like metformin, they gave me chest ache.

AWW I just wrote an essay back to u and the laptop decided to crash : ((
oh my god yes it feels like it has been forever : ((
I have been on metformin a long time yeh..
to be honest its been both good/bad ..
although had some major positive outcomes awful ones too...
ive now got a reg cycle 33-35 days although ive had a few 45/46 day ones.
which I don't really know what the reason behind these are : (
its helped me lose weight with the awful pcos battle.

To be honest I have not been monitored on metformin at all..
feel like I have left to my own devices on it... my bloods have not been monitored : (
I don't know if I agree with this.
fertility team dr put me on it and since the gp just gives me repeat prescriptions as needed.. im on 1500mg daily.
I weighed yesterday my bmi is now 30 so not far away from 29 target..
but unfortunately the fertility team we are under deal with the couple as a whole unit so we both have to have a bmi of 29.9 and under to move forward..
hubby has/is having a hard time getting weight down : ((
this is why we have been thinking about going private : ((

We also have the same situation.

A little about us: we've been trying for 3 years and 8 months. I have PCOS and am overweight. DH is overweight also.
We saw a FS after a year of trying and they wouldn't do anything until we lost weight. Our FS was pretty vile tbh. Dh was never weighed, we were tokd it was all based on my weigt.
I've lost 3 stone; partly due to metformin, partly due to low GI diet, exercise etc. i still have more weight to lose.
Over the last year my cycles got really regular; every 28 days. I got pregnant in April and sadly lost the baby at the end of June. My cycle has been a litte all over the place since.

I'm determined to lose the remaining weight in the next 6-12 months. We've recently moved counties so hoping to ind a better FS but have considered going private.

Im sorry lovely about your loss :hugs:
We have been trying for 4 yrs.. ive also lost 3st on metformin diet/exercise
I now have a reg 33-35 day cycle.
Hubby trying to get bmi down to 29 also.
fertility team weighed us both from the beginning and everything has always been based on the both of us.
Although we find it quite tough that its based on us both especially how much weight loss has been a battle for us both for all our lives : ((
I think its hard that now my bmi is 30 and now only a fraction away from the target but until both of our bmi are at 29.9 we cant move forward..
The fertility dr actually signed us off after my hsg was clear in april.
As the next stage for us is iui and ivf with Torbay we get 4 iui and 1 ivf.
Sorry your fertility team was so awful...I hope the new team in the new county is better : ))

we are considering going private next year depending on the protocol / guidelines of the particular clinic we decide to go with on what they ask of you.. with bmi's etc

YearningHeart;29563485] sorry laptop havin a moment xx

optimistic13 - lol dont worry about it. It happened to me once I was typing so much and typing so fast and I think I must of pressed something and it took to the page back and everything I typed went. I got so frustrated and the second time I types it wasnt half as good as the first time.

Thats great! putting your BMI down. Well done for coming to 30. You can do it, a little more and slowly slowly by the time you know it you will be a healthy lady. :-)
I hope your DH can put the weight down. It is a tough thing and requires lots of effort, hope he can manage and succeed. How you decided were you would go for private?

take care. x

for some reason with the weight loss and the pcos I can only lose 1lb a week/2 its tough no matter how hard I try but its been steady and a long time ..
yeh when I get on the scales it looks a lot better than it used too..
Im my own worst enemy so expect so much from myself..
im disgusted with myself for getting so heavy but struggled with weight all my life ... I was 34 this month and worry we have been trying 4 yrs now .. its a worry : (
well I do feel better for it but when you use these bmi calculators im still very over weight... bmi 25 is a long way away..
my bmi was 39 when I was heaviest ..

next year we are going to look at our weight our situation and see what do from there... private is a huge commitment and also once you have gone private for treatment I will lose the right to have nhs ivf/iui : ((

Hubby has a long long way to go ... x x

You have done so well with your weight loss and getting your bmi down. I do find it quite strange your dh has to get down his bmi too, as he won't be carrying the baby. Maybe its because they want your overall healthy to be better!

As do we : ((
We are treated as a whole (package) .. in some guidelines I read about fertility treatment.
Your assessed as a couple although true your carrying the baby... you both need to be healthy enough to make it if a man is overweight it affects the sperm etc : ((
