Hey Gals, real quick question...so I started using the clearblue ovulation kit yesterday on day 6 of my cycle like the box says to do. I have used First Response Digi Ovulation kit, it tells you yes or no, and once you get a Yes, thats it the test shuts off and you cant use it anymore even if you have more sticks, I am wondering if Clearblue is the same way...when you get a smiley face can you still use it the next day if you still have sticks??
I know its a weird question lol Also the test says to test anytime of day just around the same time everyday...I have read a lot about how you should test late morning or early afternoon because most women will get their surge during the day...some women still say to test in the morning and others say they tested twice a day and would have missed their surge if they didnt do that...so a little confused there. If I can buy additional sticks then I would test twice a day but I dont want to run out of test before I ovulate...

Woman im confused, what exactly are you asking lol.

Do you just want to know if you can use it after you get the smiley face (confirmation) and if SO... why do you NEED to use it after it says "GO, SEX, NOW" ? lol

lol well I guess im mostly just wondering if you can reuse the tester, like to reuse it next month if I dont get a bfp this month...i seen someone once say they got 2 smileys..but I read that along time ago and maybe I read it wrong, and now I cant find anything about it. They make the dang test so expensive I was mad that the first response one stops working!! I know they are just trying to make money tho

if u buy clearblue ov test digitals they come with 7 or 20 test sticks yes u can reuse the tester if you couldn't they wouldn't sell them with 7 or 20 test sticks in x

Those tests are way too expensive! You need to test twice a day because you can indeed miss your hormone surge (sometimes it last less then 12 hours). If you just started using OPKs and are not familiar with when in your cycle you are going to ovulate, it can become soooo expensive (especially if it takes several cycles to conceive). I highly recommend the Wondfo internet cheapies that you can buy in Amazon. They are super accurate. About $10-12 for 50 tests. I used them for a year and always got great results (no evaporation lines, ever).

Hey girl! What I do (because I like the visual confirmation of O with the :) too, LOL) is I use the cheap ones to see my LH progression and once I get to the point of being pretty sure I AM ovulating, I use the Clearblue digital test to confirm and it always confirms that I AM in fact about to ovulate. Worth a shot.

And also, I am still using the same tester/stick thing from 6 months ago because I bought the 20 count and do this method so I'm only using 1-2 of the digital test sticks per month and it's still working fine!

I have used the same stick for more than the 7 tests that came with, it still powers up and works given its 3+ months old (no idea how old it was before I got it, was bought secondhand, with all 7tests, not sure if they used it prior. (Clear Blue digital OV).
They say you can only use for those 7 tests, but that's a have. The same as the CBFM, you do not have to use all 10 tests from one pack, nor do you have to start another pack if you use say 13 tests, you do not have to discard the last 7.

You can use the test stick with further strips after you have had the smiley face. However I would not waste them doing more than one a day. This is how it works:

1. on the morning of your surge the test will still show as negative as the LH increase does not show up in urine until at least 4 hours later (so don't waste tests in the am).

2. you test (once) every afternoon (between 12pm and 8pm) when ovulation is approaching (make sure you have at least 4 hours of pee stored and don't drink too much water).

3. once you get the +ve, BD!!

4. if you test the next morning after your first +ve, you will still get a smiley face as the surge is still there from the day before.

5. you will probably get a +ve for 2-3 days.

6. if your first +ve test is in the morning, it is likely that your surge started the day before (hence the reason to test in the afternoon) so bd ASAP!

7. you don't need to keep testing as it is the initial positive test that is the important one

8. hopefully you will get a bfp in two weeks :)

Okay great! I did also buy the answer ovulation strips that were a lot cheaper cuz I wanted to use two opks this month(im trying everything!lol) glad you can reuse the tester...maybe people sell just the sticks on ebay...hmmm

Your like a mind reader lol that was my initial plan because it seemed like testing in the morning wasnt very accurate for most folks....but then of course you see that one post where women are debating the issue and it makes you question what to do haha......ttc just cant be easy!!

Thats what I was planning on doing but I never got the smiley face even though I most def had 2lines on the strips do you think my clear blue was a faulty lot

that sounds great! i'll definately have to do that! =)

I do the cbefm in the morning around 11am then another firs response stick at 2-3pm. i missed my surge last month because i only did the morning cbefm, in 2 years I've never missed it, i was freaked out a little.

Anyway, doing IUI this month and the fc will track my follicles for me anyway and then trigger shot me. If that doesn't work then ivf next month. :dust: everyone!

Thank you for the info, I am buying them this month and also doing the Soy Isoflavones to bring on a stronger ovulation. KMFX for a Christmas baby.

You can definitely use them after. That's why I like clearblue digital better than first response. When it shows positive you can still use it. And to save money, I haven't done it but I heard from someone, that if you keep the digital test handle and just order the test strips off ebay or amazon that go with the Clearblue Fertility monitor that they work with the digital test handle as well :) If I don't get my BFP this month, that is what im going to do next month to save money instead of buying a whole other box of 20 !!

Good luck, God bless, and lots of baby dust :dust:
