hello,

I'm a FTM who had a c section on 6/3/12. So far I have been doing OK. Just taking Motrin every 6 hours to keep me out of discomfort.

My bleeding isn't too heavy but it's still dark red at times. also get small gushes sometimes when getting up or bending......nothing like it was in the hospital though. i also get small stringy clots still......

random cramps and twinges at times as well.

anyone else experience this?

All of this is normal. It will come and go often. Mine did for 5 weeks, I'm 7 weeks PP in 2 days and it's just the discharge coming out now. It is going to take time so relax and be patient. Just keep an eye on the flow for hemmhoraging as that is a sign of an infection.

thanks for getting back to me. i'm having a lot of anxiety over this recovery. i've never had surgery before or even been in the hospital before this

Ive only had a d&c surgery before so nothing like this. You'll heal in time but you have to relax yourself or it will make things worse. Most complications happen straight away or within the first week. Good luck.

Yes I am getting this too, the first week it was basically non existent but now its coming back in clots and some days i need to change my pad every hour because its so heavy and its like a brownish red, but it was green as i have a lochia infection but that is not normal, what you are describing is :D

I bled for a day or two, then it pretty much stopped and just had spotting, at around 4weeks pp it started again really heavy (1st af) and carried on for over 3 weeks, then 2nd af, and more bleeding. I'm now 19 weeks pp and still spotting on and off. Especially after dtd. My dr said its all completely normal and you can expect random spotting for up to 6 months. I also asked about the random twinges and pains and he said part of it is everything moving back to where it should be, and the ones round the scar could be the nerve endings healing, which can go on for up to 2 years!! x

2 years? sheesh!! oh well its bearable I suppose, yeah I am getting cramps and muscle twinges but its nearer my tummy and uterus area and not my incision
