I had pains in my ovary area on 5, 4 and 3 days before O. They were mild but noticeable, mainly when i walked quickly and were brief. Then again a few more times, I noticed then a bit while lying down closer to O. Is that normal or could it be signs of a cyst. If it is a cyst would it persist after O?
Thanks, I am a bit worried, as do not normally have O pains.

I do not have an answer to your question but am in a similar situation only I have these pains from time to time and because I have cysts as well I do not know whether this pain is a sign of O or a cyst. I had laparoscopy in april but they did not remove the cyst as it was too small and this cycle I had a really strong pain for a couple of days before O and right after O but I think it is probably a new cyst (which I think usually happens after O).

It's possible that it could be a cyst, but those normally form after O where the follicle released the egg. Some women do get cysts throughout though, but I think you ladies may just be experiencing "Mittelschmerz" which translates into "middle pain". A lot of women get this during O. I actually get this myself in my ovaries, like how you ladies describes...walking fast, laying down... I even get it while sitting or standing, more like an ache, very brief. It's completely normal. Some women always have it, while some women have it one cycle and not the next, and others never have this at all. For some ladies it can be very painful, which I experienced while taking clomid. So I don't think you have anything to worry about. Even if it is a cyst, if it's small, the docs generally won't do anything about it.

Hi, thanks for your replies:flower:

I am in hope that it is middle pain from around O. The only problem is that I do not normally experience that. So hopefully, it was just a strong O. About a year ago I was getting pains frequently around O and it turned out to be an endometrial cyst on my ovary. It is not common but once you have them, they can reoccur. This is the first month with such pains again so maybe just a good O. I did get pains after O is time as well.Again while walking. So hopefully, it is the corpus luteum producing progesterone after O. Only had it one day though and in the morning. Good to hear they are more pronounced when walking:thumbup:

Thanks again!
