Question about PCOS

I didn't know really where to put this so. Me and OH have been TTC and AF is so irregular i never know if im actually late or AF just isn't coming this month. If no one in either sides of your family has a history of PCOS is there still a great chance of having PCOS? Or is it something you just can get? I have a doctors appointment the end of july about it.

No one in my family has PCOS but I have it. Irregular periods were the first sign for me as well as an inability to lose weight. I was blood tested and it was confirmed. That was 10 years ago.

the longest i went with out a period was 9 months swore up and down i was pregnant and every single pregnancy test was wrong

I have pcos and there is no history of it in my family. Gl with your appointment!
If you are anything like me, even though I suspected I had pcos I was devastated when I found out! Literally had a breakdown at work about it all. Gl hun

My longest time without a period was 10 months which is when I went to the doctor as a teen.

my mom had it we think but was never diagnosed with it, but you can still have it even if no one in your family had it. i was just diagnosed with it a couple weeks ago, but thought i had it before and did all my research and talked to other women on here who had it, and when i was diagnosed i was ok, because i knew all i needed to know, and knew there is treatment and you can still have children!! no body in my family was ever diagnosed with it before me. my longest time without a period was 2 years. my longest time without ovulating was 3.5 years. i am 20yo

None of my family has it but I do. I read somewhere that if your mother has it you are more likely to get it as well, accordingly you have it from before puberity.
