Df has picked his ring out but I'm having trouble finding one I like. I aren't keen on gold so want something in either white gold or silver and I aren't keen on a plain wedding band either as they just don't look right on my hand.

How quirky can you have your wedding ring or do you even have to have a traditional style wedding ring?

Any input would be really helpful as we plan to buy the rings next month. x

You can have your wedding ring however quirky you want :winkwink: I'm very into celtic style jewellery and so on, so I really wanted a custom made engagement ring and a wedding ring to match - not just a plain band, but something simple enough that my engagement ring would still stand out, but interesting enough to be something different!

In the end I did just get a plain, white gold band...which I love because of what it symbolises...but I still like to look on custom jewellery maker websites at the pics - maybe worth doing something like that, to get an idea of what you really might like? :)

xx

You can have whatever you like, it's your wedding ring and it's what it represents that is important.

For instance, DH has a gold wedding band, I have a platinum D shaped wedding band. They don't match but he doesn't like silver/platinum/white gold. Doesn't matter ;)

Mine isn't a 'traditional' wedding ring, it's even bigger and sparklier thank my engagement ring!

Just to warn you though, being pregnant you ring size may well change, i go my wedding ring in January and got married in May, the ring fit me fine (i tried it on all the time:blush:) right up until about April when my fingers became more swollen. I kept telling myself it would go down in time for the big day and the day before the wedding i had to go and get it changed to a bigger size at the jewellers which they luckily had otherwise i would have had to get a cheapy replacement for the day.

Thanks ladies for your replies. Glad to know that there is no set rule as to how the wedding ring should be df isn't a huge jewelery fan and has found a ring which is really out there and to his tastes so I may as well do the same lol.

Heidi thanks for the warning. Thankfully my fingers don't swell up too bad when pg usually my big fat cankles that do instead  x

Just go for something thats "you" afterall you are going to be wearing it everyday for many years to come, so theres no point in wasting money on something traditional if its not your style iykwim

I have a nice diamond set white gold band and OH has a yellow gold band

Thanks hun done a bit of searching and found something that would be perfect and that would go perfect with my engagment ring so thats another thing now ticked off my list :D x

Is it bad that i dont have a list to tick?
