Question about tax credits need answering asap

Hi Ladies I want to know if when on paid maternity leave whether this is classed as employed or unemployed when claiming for family tax credits.

Just filling in something online to see what we are entitled to but don't know whether to class myself as employed or not.

And if I class myself as employed do I put what i used to earn or what I get during mat leave.

You are employed, lollylou is right. Don't forget to deduct £100 for every week you were on SMP during the tax year as well!

I.E. - I went on Maternity Leave at end Feb, so I deducted £600 for 6 weeks on mat leave during the tax year.

Defo employed but not sure how much you are sposed to say? prob maternity pay? but maybe ring them and ask? x
