Question for the US ladies...

When does your doctor start checking you for dilation and effacement. Is it 36 weeks? I can't remember

Mine started at 39 weeks

Mine would if I asked him from about 37 weeks on. It doesn't really matter to me though, as people can be a little dialated for awhile, or can have nothing and go into labor overnight. So for me I would rather not have him poke down there. But I think here in the US our OBs may start checking around the 37 wk mark. Perhaps it varies a bit from doctor to doctor!
