Hey everyone, my period is usually REALLY heavy (filling up a super plus tampon every 1-2 hours) and I usually have really bad cramps (like wake up crying bad) well this period (well I think it is a period) was a day late and I have am barely filling up 1 1/4 tampons a day and it started on the 13th. The tampons are also mostly just little smears of brownish blood. I am having absoultly NO cramps either. Its weird. I had what I thought was implantation earler so I don't think this is implantion bleeding, unless it was ovulation bleeding earler. But could implantation bleeding be this long?

Also has anyone ever used the ovaCue Fertility monitor? I have a question about that too!

I don't really know what to say on this one. Are you charting at all? If so, you should be able to look at your trends of ovulation and AF. Usually implantation bleeding is around 10 DPO. Also, with heavy and painful periods, have you asked your doc about endo?

I can't help you with the Fertility Monitor, as I haven't used one.

Good luck with everything!

No I don't chart but i do use the ovacue thing. "By measuring the electrolyte levels of your cervical mucus, the vaginal sensor will provide the OvaCue fertility monitor with the information it needs to track trends in your hormone levels, thereby allowing the monitor to identify the estrogen surge that occurs just prior to ovulation and the subsequent shift from estrogen dominance to progesterone dominance that occurs at the time of ovulation. The OvaCue will display a pink box on the day that this hormonal shift is detected, indicating that ovulation occurred on that day." The Ovacue Fertility Monitor helps you determine your most fertile days and improve your chances of getting pregnant. OvaCue is one of the most advanced fertility monitors available yet it is very simple to use. Best of all, unlike messy urine-based tests, OvaCue uses saliva to predict ovulation - up to seven days in advance! Simply place a sensor on your tongue for 5 seconds and Ovacue will record your fertility for the day. For added convenience, with the push of a button OvaCue can display in English, Spanish or Chinese!
OvaCue works by measuring changes to electrolyte levels in your saliva that are impacted by the hormone estrogen. This method of predicting ovulation is over 98% accurate and is FDA approved. It is the only fertility monitor that uses this saliva-based technology and it requires no additional purchases (such as sensors or sticks required for other monitors)."

I don't think I have endo I just looked up the symptoms and I don't think I have any becides the heavy period and bad cramps and I have had a transvagional ultrasound a couple years back and they didn't say anything about it

Endo would not be seen on any ultrasound, so unless they do a lap you won't know for sure. I would see a fertiity specialist and see about getting one done even if you don't have a lot of symptoms. If you don't have it, it is a very simple procedure, and if you do you can get it cleaned up before it gets worse and increase your chances of getting pregnant.

I don't know anything about the monitor, but about your spotting there are a few things it could be. One is you could be pregnant, a lot of women get light periods when they first conceive. Or (and please this is only a very small maybe) it could have been a chemical pregnancy. Because the blood is brownish or old blood that can be a good sign if you are pregnant and I believe with a chemical it is usually bright or new blood. It could just be a weird cycle too. Did this bleeding or spotting come when your period is usually due, early, or late?

I will try to get my dr to give me a referal to a fertility specialist. Would my cervix look any different if I did have it? I don't really know if she will give me one given the fact that she won't even do a progesterone test.

My period was a day late according to my average cycle but my cycles fluxuate anywhere between 24-29 days

Won't even do a progesterone test? Gee.. Well I know at least here, you don't need a referral to see a fertility specialist, at least not a reproductive endocrinologist. I have an appointment booked with no referral.. Sorry I can't give any advice, Care76 is doing a good job though!

I did use the Ovacue for some time. Here is the thread for the Ovacue. There is a lot of good info here. https://www.babyandbump.com/ttc-groups/307256-club-ovacue.html

Yeah I got the ovacue in feb of this year used it in March and May and got the purple box both times. I did some research and have alot of symptoms for a progesterone defficency but when I asked my dr about getting a test done she refused since I have never been pg and I'm not pg now. I just don't understand why she won't its just a simple blood test!

But she knows you are trying, right? I don't understand. If you don't need a referral where you are (here you do) then I would get booked in asap. Otherwise find a new doctor! It's always better to be safe and get things checked out. You want to know as early as possible if there is a problem.

If you want to level out your hormones and maybe you cycle too, I would take vitex. Maybe look into acupuncture too. It helped me with my cycles.

I talked to my insurance and I need a referal, but they also said if she still refuses to do a progesterone check and I do get pregnant and miscarry from it the practice can be sued! I am going to make another appt this week and demand one!

I'm still bleeding still only filling up 1 tampon a day at most.... I made my husband check my cervix and he said it was supper soft and squishy.... I just am so confused

Sorry hun, I know exactly what it is like when you are confused and want to know what is going on. I hope you find out what is going on. :hugs:
