I hope some of you ladies can help me out here. As I said I'm only 22 weeks right now. I amhoping to make it to about 25 weeks, and anything after that is a bonus. I am on numerous meds due to my pregnancy history which you can see on my signature. I had a cerclage placed at 14.5 weeks. Everything has been great so far with this pregnancy, knock on wood...

I had my anatomy scan at 19+6. At first, the tech was worried about my cervical length. He did an internal scan and said it looked better at 3.1cm. There was no funneling. My ob took me off my prometrium suppositories. Two days later I was in the ER with all day pain in my cervix. An internal was done and the dr said cervix was long and hard. They gave me more prometrium for peace of mind, but I never used them.

Saw my ob on Wednesday. External ultrasound showed my cervix at 4.5cm, which obviously wasn't right. She did an internal check and though my stiches are still tight, she said my cervix felt maybe about 2.5cm long, but it also felt like it was thinning and soft. She said not to worry yet as she can only feel the tip of the iceberg. She did an internal scan and came out with a measurement of 3.5cm. No funneling. She feels things are going as good as can be, but I'm on strict bedrest now.

I felt crampy all wed and Thursday after my exams. I started using my prometrium again Thursday. Friday night, after peeing and wiping, there was some snot like discharge on the tp. Most of it was clear, there was a bit of yellow. I got this a few more times last night. Most often though when I wipe I get alot of clear mucous on the tp, like the lube you make when your arroused... but im not, obviously.

I went pee at 5am this morning. While peeing I felt like a bit of stuff come out. When I looked in the toilet there was a lump of mucous on the bottom of the toilet. It was mainly white with a bit of yellow. When I wiped I had a lot of that lube kind of mucous with another little bit of the snotty mucous mixed in.

Does this sound like the beginning of a mucous plug? Obviously I hope not. If this sounds like it though I guess I have to prepare myself to get flown out. But I want to be sure before going to the hospital as it is a long weekend and I'm not sure if I will get a scan or not, or if they will just send me away.

I will be interested to hear the answers, but I hope not because I have had the same snotty clear/white/sometimes yellowish discharge in big gloopy globs for weeks! Never thought it could be the mucous plug! From what I have heard before the mucous plug would be tinged pink or brown....anyone?

I've heard it can be clear or yellowish, but that it can be pinky, have a spot of red or be brownish. I'm curious because I've heard the pinky stuff or the bloody stuff is pretty much the end of the plug, and is considered the bloody show.

With Greg, they told me the yellowy discharge I had was a yeast infection even though I knew it wasn't. So they treated me for that. I started punk spotting about 5 days later, and just assumed that if I did have a yeast infection, the irritation could lead to pink spotting. The red stringy bits came 2 days later, and I was flown out. I bled for 5 days before delivering him.

This stuff isn't as yellow as the first stuff with Greg. But if it's the beginning beginning, I think I need the steroids, some antibiotics and I need to get flown out, and maybe we can delay this delivery longer than gregs.

I have had discharge kinda like I think you are describing, stringy and muscousy and just put it down to normal. I think you really do need to discuss it through with your medical professional/midwife to let you know what needs to be done, as it's really impossible to tell without experience. Hoping baby stays put as long as possible -x-

Im 26 weeks and always have the clear discharge on the tissue when wiping, but sometimes I do seem to get blobs of mucus type stuff that can look a bit like snot.
In early pregnancy I got a lot of green snotty looking stuff - tmi! - but not in the 2nd trimester really.
Im sure with DS the clumps of plug as coming away were really quite obvious.

I really hope its just normal discharge, but I think Id get checked out just in case xx

The muscus plug can be clear too. But other things can cause that kind of discharge... like bacterial vaginosis and a UTI... thats my my drs thought mine was at first but its not so I'm going back in on Tuesday to get a better examination! I would definately call your dr and see what they think!

When I had a miscarriage, the mucous plug was a big round clear blob that was ever so slightly yellow tinged. It was about an inch all around.

just hoping to give you some reassurance !!

I had a cerclage placed at 21 weeks.. emergency as i was 2cm dilated!!

A couple of days before this was sdiscovered i lost my mucous plug,it was snotty, stringy and quite a large amount, mainly clear but tinged with blood.

My OB said that i now have no plug, but it could well grow back and not to be alarmed as its the stitch in the cervix that holdfs everything together, not the plug.

Regardless of wether you have lost your plug or not,im pretty sure that your cervix would have been at least funneling at your last scans, and the lengths you say you had are FAB!

Losing you plug in the case of cervical stitch, does not necessarily mean labour is near hun.I'd advise going to see your doc for advice and a cervical scan for reassurance and plety of bedrest.

Oh and keep using the hormone pessaries! They really help to keep your cervix doing it's job!

Any questions dont hesistate to ask xxx
