do i have to boil water or can i use bottled baby water?

if 2oz = 2oz water and 1 scoop
and 4oz = 4oz water and 2 scoops

then is this right?

5oz = 5oz water and 2.5 scoops?
6oz = 6oz water and 3 scoops?
7oz = 7oz water and 3.5 scoops?
8oz = 8oz water and 4 scoops?

basically half the amount of scoops as there is water?

when i use ebm i normally boil the bottles, nipples etc once a week and just wash everything normally after every use. is that ok with formula or do i now have to boil everything after every use?
and am i right in saying, premade formula can be kept at:

roomtemp = 2 hours
fridge = 24 hours
leftovers after a feed = 1 hour
never to be frozen

?

I think all of that is correct. If not...sorry Carter-oops:blush:.

i always thought it was 1 scoop of formula to 1 oz of water so a 4oz bottle would be 4oz of water and 4 scoops of formula powder :shrug:

you have to use fresh boiled water left to cool for no longer than 30 minutes so it reaches a temp of 70c.

it can only be kept at the back of the fridge for no longer than 24 hours and discard any left over feed after 2 hours

its also advised to steralize bottless, teets ect after every feed.

Hi Hun, I use baby water with no boiling. I used to boil 1 oz add all the powder to it stir then all the remaining water from the bottle & into the fridge. Formula is not sterile by adding the powder to 1 oz of hot water u sterilize it.

Some formulas have larger scoops. 1 scoop= 2 oz of water

If u use anti bacterial soap u don't need to sterilize after every feed. U can leave feeds in the fridge for 24 hrs only. Sry posting from my phones :)

I think it'd slightly different in the US. They have different guidelines to us and products will be different so they may well use half scoops to an oz of water. Took me a while to figure this out whilst googling lol and kept coming up with different answers!

i guess it depends on brand etc, it may be biger/smaller scoop sizes and more/less concentrated powder. the back of the enfamil can says 2oz water =1 scoop and 4oz water = 2 scoops, so going by that logic i was trying to work out what 5-8oz would be.

i've always used antibacterial dish soap. because itd be a nightmare to sterilize the breastpump every 2 hours! so thats helpful.

and ty for the 24 hour thing, i thought i was 48 hours, but thats bm not formula!

the more accurate you get the scoops the better, I would make that little bit extra so that its a whole ounce rather than half because its simpler and you know that your not putting too much/too little powder :flower:
