Hi girls,

Just wondering how many others of you have quiet/lazy babies during the day.

My little man seems to move very little to none during the day, I know sometimes with doing other things its not as noticeable, but I work in an office, sat at my desk all day and still very rarely feel him move until early evening.

Its not usually until I have my evening meal that he comes into action and has a little party in there, but before that nothing...... It is getting quite annoying now as I get to lunch time every day and wonder if I should have rung my midwife, but the amount he moves in the evening/night I think he must be fine

Anyone else the same?

:hugs:

I wouldn't worry too much! My little man seems to be more active in the mornings and afternoons/early evenings, but I rarely hear a peep out of him during the night (and since my sleeping is now crap I really can tell!). Plus if you're at work you're probably distracted from feeling him loads. They all seem to settle into specific patterns at some point.

Great choice of name by the way!

Oh so are we, Michael was going to be ours until we found out we can't name babies after living relatives in the Jewish culture (my husband is Jewish and Michael is his dad's name). Having a bloody nightmare over it now, nothing sounds right!

My little lump moves very little during the day, makes up for it come early evening and bed time... LOL

Now when it comes to relaxing and winding down the monkey starts his excerise routine, I'm sure he's got a complete work out rountine going on starting with the gentle stretching right the way through to the heart pumping cardiac aerobics back to the gentle stretching... As my bump will rock and roll, chew out of shape and go back to normal causing me to moan, groan and feel absolutely worn out when he does finally stop...

Try not to worry...

When I was about 30ish weeks my baby used to be quiet during the day and then go a bit mental at night and I went into see the mw about it twice and both times she was absolutely fine! That was just her pattern of sleep and awake time!

That's changed now and every little twitch I feel as there's no space left! ha ha!

Yup my LO is fairly quiet in the day. I tend to get a few kicks between 7-8.30am (from when I wake up and the drive to work), then maybe a few during the day, but not always. Baby then seems to become a lot more active from say 5.30/6ish (when I get home), and by 11pm it's just crazy party time!!

My MW just spoke to me about patterns, and I mentioned my above pattern and she didn't seem concerned - just said to phone delivery suite if this reduces at all :)

I dont notice my LOs movements as much during the day when Im out and about. If I sit still for a bit longer or lay down he will start his antics :D

When I was about 28 weeks I was worried I was going to have a nocturnal baby but now it seems to sleep when I sleep most of the time!

My midwife says not to worry too much about frequency of movements, just worry about what's normal for you. So if your baby hasn't moved all morning but that's his usual pattern to be quiet during the day it's not really anything to be concerned over.

I sometimes still have a cold drink and lie on my side to get my bubs moving now and again just for a bit of reassurance though. As it gets bigger the movements are less easy to ignore so you might find you feel more during the day in the next few weeks.
