We still don't know what we're having (4 more weeks to go till we find out if baby cooperates) but I'm starting to think it's a boy..We already have a girls name picked out, however we changed our mind on the boy's name we thought of using. So now we're completely at loss..
Then yesterday -looking at the baby name book - we stumbled upon Quinlan and both DH and myself like it a lot..

I was wondering what you all thought of it! Does it sound too girly (or a potentional name that could be taken over by girls just like Quinn is, these days..)

I'm ok with totally honest opinions since that's what it's all about :D So please help me!! lol

I love Quinlan, and it was on my list when I was pregnant :)

Thank you! It's really such a great name..I also love Lachlan but DH doesn't, sadly..

Well it reminds me of quinine - maybe I'm weird! I think Quinn is extremely cute, but I didn't know it is now being used for girls...I've never heard of a girl named Quinn... With so many names crossing genders it's hard to pick a boy name these days, isn't it?

Absolutely, Surprise! I have nothing against unisex names but I happen to like unique yet gender specific names. I've seen Quinn for girls here in the US (lived both on east and west coast and seen it for girls the past few years) and I have hard time to accept this because I love it for a little boy so much...it'd be a cute nn for Quinlan.

It definitely would! I'm like you, I think a lot of the unisex names are quite cute, but I personally like the gender-specific names, as long as I haven't heard them too much! It makes it so hard to find a name to suit me!

I live in the US too, and haven't heard Quinn for a girl yet, but there is a boy named Quinn in my son's 3rd grade class. It sounds cool to me.

I'm glad it's not widespread for girls yet!!! and I ran into the 2-3 girl Quinns that are out there (all of them were under 5) Ahh I am feeling better - maybe I shouldn't worry about it becoming feminine, then. :)

Well I do have to say that I've been out of the loop for a few years. I've not been working in the church nursery nor have any of my friends had babies. So I may be basing this on my sons' ages, 9 and 12. Names tend to come in waves, don't they?

My middle name is Quinn, and I would love to name my girl Quinn but it doesnt flow with our last name.

I'm not keen on it, sorry. But i don't think it sounds girly. x
