We aren't expecting but we are planning to start TTC again next month! I've just been looking through cutesy girl names and I've gathered a (very) short list of favorites!

Which of these is your favorite and what is your opinion of each name?

-Mabel
-Olive
-Betsy
-Daisy
-Rosie

*also... None of these names are popular at all where I live. Are they popular where you live?

Feel free to leave any other suggestions!!!

:flower:

I like Mabel the best.

None of the names are super popular in my town but I know olive is getting trendy.

I love Rosie :flower: I mostly see Rose as a MN, so it'd be awesome as a first name for a change!
Olive is becoming really popular, so I guess it depends on how original you want to be.
Daisy is OK, but I knew a dog with this name. Mabel & Betsy are not my style.

I know Olive is popular in other countries but not in the US at all! People here have never even heard Olive as a name and I mostly get a "what??!" reaction when I mention it to people. Lol

I got most of my names from top 100 lists in other countries, so that's why. :) I'm not worried about it being too trendy or popular because it isn't here!

In that case, I love Olive
But Rosie is probably my favourite.

I like Rosie, Daisy and Betsy in that order :)

Daisy is my favourite followed by Rosie (although I prefer Rose nn Rosie).

Now because you asked for opinions on each name...
Mabel and Betsy sound like something you would name a cow :( Sorry
Olive I am not keen on but there is nothing wrong with it

I like Olive the best. Also love Daisy and Mabel. Not heard any of them used IRL. Betsy and Rosie aren't for me but they're still very cute.

In the film The Help someone is called Mabeline and I really love that name. And the shortened Mabie :)

I love old lady names! From your list, Olive is my fave. Then Rosie, Daisy and Betsy. Not a fan of Mabel because I went to school with Mabel and she was not nice.

Love old lady names :)

I adore Mabel it is so pretty. Then Olive and Daisy. Rosie is ok and Betsy I'm not a fan of

Rosie and Daisy are common/popular names where I live, I know multiple girls/babies with those names. Mabel I know one baby and Olive and Betsy I don't know of any. The other old lady name I know of is one toddler called Nora

I love 'old lady' names. My favourite off of that list is Daisy by a mile. I think Rosie is cute, too. I don't hear Mabel very often but I think it could grow on me.

Olive is nice, though if you're looking for something not too trendy, I think it's too close to Olivia which is super super popular everywhere right now.

I don't like Betsy at all. There are some old names that I really can't picture on a baby/child/young adult no matter how hard I try and this is definitely one of them.

I love Betsy! As for popularity, I'm sure every other girl born in the UK is named Daisy or Rosie at the moment - very popular names (in the south west anyway!)

I like Rosie :) What about Marianne? I had an old friend with that name who said it was an old lady name lol.

Thanks for all of your replies! Such mixed opinions, too!

The name combo that I keep going back to is Olive Catherine. We really like Catherine as a middle name for any of the names.

I love Rosie but I would want to use a "formal" name and Rosie as a nn.

I really like the suggestion Mabeline. Though it's a makeup brand... I don't know if that makes it cooler or less usable.

-Mabel- 10/10
-Olive- 9/10
-Betsy- 6/10
-Daisy- 10/10
-Rosie- 8/10

I love your list! Mabel is one of my top girls names but DH doesn't like it :(. Daisy was on our short lists, as was Rose (very similar to Rosie). I know of 2 little Mabel's and 2 Daisys, all 2-3.5 years old. I know an Olive who is 2.5 years old, no Rosie's or Betsy's.
In case you want a few more suggestions, some names which I think are along the same line:

Charlotte nn Lottie/Lotta
Florence nn Flo/Flossie/Ren
Felicity nn Fliss
Violet
May
Lydia
Emilia nn Emmy
June
Martha
Amity

For a name to shorten to Rosie, I love Primrose.

Yes! That's a great suggestion :flower:

Also I like Olive Catherine. I think Olive goes best with that mn from your list.

What do you think of Marion, Clara or Gloria? They are also along the same lines (to me anyway.)

I work with a Rosemaria, nn. Rose. I like "Rosie" better - my fav choice on your list. I'm not personally a fan of "old lady" names, but I do love Vivienne, nn. "Vivi."

Hmm... other suggestions: Hazel, Pearl, Matilda (nn. "Tillie"), Maggie, Millie, Sadie
