I have a MaxiCosi Cabriofix to go onto my pushchair chassis, and I've been debating buying the raincover - any feedback?
I had a winter baby with DS and I can't remember if we had a raincover for his car seat when I used it on the travel system or not, I think I must've just avoided going out in the rain :haha: I will have to go out more this time as I'll need to do the school run, which is why I'm thinking of buying one but I don't want to spend the money if the hood on the cabriofix does an ok job, if I also get a waterproof blanket.

Hi

We didn't have one last time however will be getting one this time, they have them on eBay quite reasonably priced. X

I would say so yes. We've got one for when carseat goes on pram because I'm sure it'll rain lol. I got mine from toys r us but they're cheap on eBay x

I'm not getting one and never had one with my other 2. A blanket works just as good!

I live in Seattle, so a rain cover is a bonus :dohh:

Seriously though, I used mine as a germ cover with my last DD!! She was born during the Swine Flu epidemic, and I was TERRIFIED to take her anywhere. I found that walking into a store with her in her car seat snapped into her stroller, people didn't give the rain cover a second look. It kept the sneezers and the "touchers" away from LO!

Our Maxi Cosi came with a sun canopy thingy, which isn't waterproof but would do just fine for short periods in the rain, like if you were just running in somewhere. We got the rain cover but maybe used it once so it was a waste for us but if you'll be out with it a lot and live in a rainy area probably worth the investment.

Thanks, I never thought to look on eBay! Wamommy - genius idea about the germ shield, I've convinced myself I need one. When DS was born there were a few occasions where total strangers would come up and put either a finger near his mouth to "see if he was hungry" - like WTF! First time it happened I was stunned, this sweet old lady decided to see if he'd suck her finger!! Ew!! I was wise to it after that, but it's something old people like to do. i did wonder if it helps the old folk regenerate or something  coz I cant think why else they'd do it!! Yep, I'm going to order one of these tomorrow!
