When connor woke up yesterday morning he had this rash, it was on his tummy and his back so just thought it was heat rash so kept him nice and cool and it seemed to fade abit so as my mum and dad have him saturday nights as its only day they can see him i asked them to keep an eye on it. He hasnt been acting ill, he had abit of a temp but nothing really bad but my mum brought him back this morning and its still there and seems abit worse than when he left yesterday and hes itching and gradually its spread to his face and behind his ears. Today hes been same though, he doesnt seem ill happy as ever but just constantly itching. He hasnt had a temp today either so ive got no idea what it is? Our house is quite warm so weve just had him in his vest all day to make sure it wasnt heat rash but its still there so thought id come and ask you all if any of your LOs have had anything like this?

The pictures arnt very good and its made the rash look really light but you can see it alot more in real life if you know what i mean

It looks like an allergic reaction to me? Have you changed washing powder, bath stuff? x

No, sounds stupid but didnt even think of doing that as didnt think meningitis looked like that and he doesnt seem ill so didnt even think of it

i would call the nhs helpline hun, it could be nothing but its better to get it checked x

im not trying to panic you... but worth seeing? if it goes maybe phone NHS direct? x

If it fades and the Docs haven't got an specific evidence as to what has caused it, I expect they will say its a "viral" rash, which usually comes before/after a viral infection appears.
My LO had something similar but it was just on his trunk, he had it once after he had had a cough and a temperature, and another time he had it appear after a D & V bug.

But if he is itching that does suggest some sort of allergic reaction to something. NHS direct will help xx

After talking to you on msn it sounds like measles to me hun x

Dylan had this type of rash a week after his jabs and the doc said it was a normal post jab reaction

This looks really similar to a rash that my little girl had - she was covered in it and my first thought was meningitis. But I got the HV to check it out and she thought it might have been a reaction to something, or maybe even a flare up of eczema. I got Epiderm cream on prescription which I applied 4 times daily and it cleared up really quickly. Do get it checked out though because I'm no medical professional but it looks near on identical to the rash that Keeley had x

It might well be a viral rash or allergic reaction hun but worth getting it checked out anyway just to be safe as Daisy had a rash that was bumpy and faded so I though it defo can't be meningitis but when she was in hospital the doctor said that rash that fades is the most common rash to get with meningitis but is not necessarily the only type of rash that you can have with it :hugs:.

Rang nhs direct and they said its unlikely meningitis as it fades when a tumbler is put on it and becauses hes not ill in any other way. going to get him in docs tomorrow so will update you all
