Hey all, well our beautiful baby Rayna Fae arrived on the 23rd of November one day over her due date. I went for a sweep on my due date and asked if it was possible for a date for induction. (long story as to why i wanted induction. long story short extreme stress related to my dad being very sick but more to it than that) anyway had the shock of my life when they rang same day to say the could induce me that day at 3pm!!! i was as scatty as a bat! We arrived at hospital i was on monitor for baby but turned out i was having some contractions! no induction needed the sweep was doin g its thing! she said as i was already dilated to 2cm and that i would have waters broke at some point but could be quite a while, well it was a wait till the nxt morn my partner slept n the chair i didnt sleep at all contracting every 7 mins. By half 7 i was in delivery suite and they broke my waters....wow all go! now super powered contractions i went from 4cm to 8cm in an hr!! im not going to lie, it felt like i should be dying with the pain i ws in. I was begging for epidural but they kept saying she was in surgery and by the time she was free, they said it would be too late and id be ready to push soon. I was in such distress i was shouting help me help me! and begged and begged and they agreed to try epidural saying it prob wouldnt have time to work. im so glad they let me, i went into some sort of tantric meditation thing to keep still for them to do it, i knew i had to, to be out of this pain. It must have slowed labour down as i ended up having 2 blissful hrs pain free, so glad i perservered for epidural. Anyway, 2 hrs later the pain was back very low, it was time to push. The epidural doesnt stop the pressure pains and delivery pains. I forgot to add that id had growth scans that suggested she would be 10lb + at birth, well let me tell u, this is my 2nd child first was 12 yrs ago and a smaller baby, with my first birth i needed episiotomy and long time pushing, this time bigger baby 10 mins not hardly pushing just had to pant her out and she just came out herself sooooooooo easily it was magical! no tears, no stitches! Rayna Fae arrived 8lb 13oz so definately not 10lb!! one of the first things i said was 'shes tiny!!!' as even at this weight she loooks teeny tiny. excuse bad grammer im typing one handed whilst breastfeeding!
