Reaction to different brand of cow milk?

Hey ladies, I'm a little concerned at the moment. Basically for the last two nights DS has gagged and thrown up his entire milk feed which for him is very unusual. I thought at first that maybe he was just feeling ill, but other than a runny nose he's been fine during the day, playing and napping as normal, his temperature is fine, and his appetite is as big as ever.

The only thing I can even possibly pin it down on is that we've been using a different brand of milk since yesterday morning. Also thinking about it he's even coughed up a small amount (not full blown sick) after his lunch drink. Hubby tried it and nothing seemed wrong with it just in case it was a bad one.

He's been on cows milk for the last 4 weeks and we haven't had a problem until now. He's also never shown any type of reaction to dairy before. Has anyone else had anything like this?

What do you mean different brand? Like Sainsburys to Cravendale or something?

If so, it's extremely unlikely that something like that will have caused a reaction. Most of the milk supplied in your area comes from local farms in the area and is all batch processed and bottled all together so when they've finished bottling for Sainsburys, they'll switch the bottles to Asda etc and pump in exactly the same milk.

If sounds like he's possibly over full? What does he eat at dinner time? Occasionally when my LO has been full at dinner, then had milk she's thrown it all up because it's simply too much.

Hope that helps.

Yeah that's pretty much what I meant. He's had the typical supermarket ones, but this is from 'Milk and More', so not sure if it will be down to the local type or not. Don't know whether it being left outside in the morning would effect it or not either. At this point I'm grasping at straws.

He's over fed before which was quite messy, but this time it just seems much different from then. The last two days there's been a two hour gap from dinner to bed, plus I only give him 4oz (tonight a little less to be on the safe side).

I used to work for the company that manages Milk & More therefore I'm even more certain the change in brand is purely coincidence. It's the same milk, just with a premium charged and different packaging. And with the weather, outside lately is as effective as your fridge.

Honestly, it just sounds like a bit of a blip...I'd see how he is tomorrow. My LO has her dinner at 5, and milk at 7 and still occasionally borks it all up.

How does he settle without milk? Does he need it? X

Wow, now that is good to know. Always fun to hear insider information. And I'm very glad to hear it. Thanks Sue :)

Really hoping it is down to him having a cold now, and now sounds more likely. Or as suggested maybe still just over fed.

He really is still at the point where he needs his milk to help settle him down at night. 9 times out of 10 he tends to drop off straight to sleep afterwards. At the moment where he's been sick it takes over an hour to get him anywhere near settled. Although it wasn't so bad tonight as he was more sick over Daddy and the floor rather than on himself. :haha:

Oh bless him, well I hope it's just a little mishap and he's back to normal soon. Happy to try help if you need any more advice x
