reaction to formula - red blotches

I am currently bf but am trying to give Lo one bottle of formula a day
When she has it she gets red botches all around her mouth, I add it to her baby rice and she still goes red so I'm assuming its the formula.it does go away within an hour

I have tried aptamil,cow and gate and sma and she reacts the same to all

Is this an allergic reaction? Anyone had this experience

If it is an allergy,do they grow out of it?

I would give her a break from formula for now then try again ina week with a different formula , if she carrys on reacting like this see your doctor. My daughter was reacting like this with sma when i was first introducing formula. i wouldnt carry on if the reactions are showing so obvous.

Thanks youngwife, was it just sma that your Lo reacted too? When did she grow out of it?

My Lo has reflux too and I'm now wondering whether she does have a milk allergy as I have milk everyday

I'm going to ring my hv tomorrow

it was just sma. she didnt grow out of it we switched formula.s. if your bbaby really is alergic to cows milk you would need to switch to hypoalegenic milk as if you carry on giving a baby thats alergic to the milk it wont be good. i would try msybe 2 more milks with a gap of a week between trying it and see how you go.

if your baby is still reacting you need to go to your gp so they can test if she is alergic.

my friends baby is alergic to the protiene in cows milk and breastmilk. so he has special milk xx

How did ur friends baby react to breast milk,was it the same symptoms,blotchy skin? Just wondering as my Lo sicks up a lot with bm

Her baby could not tolerate breastmilk because of the protiene in it too. he was a sicky baby. but my daughter reacted bad on my breastmilk when i drank milk and ate cheese she would vomit so much so i cutt it out but now she is weaning she eats cheese etc so she is okay now xx
