Real Egg Whites? BS douche?

Has anyone heard of/tried to use egg whites as a lubricant, or to help facilitate sperm movement towards an egg?

Or to use a home-made baking soda douche to neutralize the acids in your vagina?


I have a book called, How To Choose the Gender of Your Baby and it suggested both of these methods to help produce a boy.. which for us is a nonissue, we would be thrilled either way, but the methods seem like they would help facilitate a baby of any kind.

[If anyone was curious, the method is to try to BD as close to OV as possible, so the day before/day of OV, and no sooner.. since boy sperm is said to be smaller, faster, and less hardy than female sperm; so it has a better likelihood of reaching the egg before female sperm does. Whereas female sperm are larger, slower, but can survive longer in the vagina, therefore to conceive a girl you can try a vinegar douche (to make the vagina more acidic, and more hostile to male sperm) and to BD up to 2 days before predicted OV & no later.. so BD 2 days before OV, then not again at all. Obviously not something any of us would ever try!]

I know there are products like PreSeed & ConceivePlus out there.. but I was just wondering if there's any validation to using these 2 methods. I might would try it, except I'm worried it could do more harm than good!

Hey didn't want to read and run, but the truth is I don't have a clue (sorry)

I did read an article similar to this online the other day though! Majorly grossed out by using actual egg whites but the rest seem ok.. worth a shot? nothing ventured nothing gained and all... I don't see them advertising it if it could be in any way harmful to you, like I said saw this same info on another website (lol i didn't know our men mate had 2 types of sperm - felt so uneducated!)

If it works give me a shout you could start a trend!

Yeah I suppose.. I might try the douche if nothing else.. I expect I might have an "overly hostile" vagina.. because I rarely have any CM, and it's never copious or eggwhite-like, etc..

TBH I wouldnt want to be putting anything up there other than my OH's thing.

The vagina is a very fragile environment, it doesn't take much to mess it up. You could end up giving your self infections and awful thrush doing things like that.

As for CM help I would recommend preseed or taking the cough syrup robotrussin.

From what I've read/researched, egg whites CAN be used successfully as a lubricant, but there is risk of salmonella and other harmful things if the eggs are contaminated (which is not uncommon... usually we just cook it though and it's ok)

I do have preseed but all it says on there is that it helps meet the PH environment of the vagina/semen.. not that it actually helps the sperm meet the egg.

Also, robitussin is on my list of "things to try."

Sperm can swim through it, so if you put it inside with the applicator it's going to help sperm get to the egg.

Also try grapefruit juice or the actual fruit to help with cm, it worked for me

There is an organic lube available called Yes!Baby which brings your ph to a sperm friendly level and then comes with a complementary one to bring your ph back to normal. You can find it at yesyesyes.org. It is a little pricey, but it is the only lube I think I would ever use. Chemicals freak me out. I will be trying it next cycle, though hopefully I won't need to. hmmm i wouldnt do the douche one you're not supposed to put any water or anything up there. alters the natural balance. i read something on here about someones sister using egg whites to get her bfp!

not sure i fancy it myself though
