Hi Ladies,

I don't really belong in LTTC, we've only been trying 9 months, but I feel like you ladies might be able to relate to my situation better. I know that especially compared to many of you, we haven't been trying long. But I'm pretty sure I'm in this for the long haul and I need people who will be realistic and honest. I'm not looking for puppies and rainbows saying all will be fine just relax and let it happen. I want reality.

As background, my husband had varicocele surgery before we met and just recently went for his follow up sperm analysis. It has improved in terms of motility and count, but they are still low. His count is 8 million and his motility is 20% with good forward progression. Volume was 2.7 mL and his morphology was in the normal range. I guess my question is, the doctor told my husband he was optimistic about these results, do you agree? I feel like the chances are so low with these numbers. He just started taking Fertilaid so we hope to improve results. I'd welcome your input and advice on how to improve his count if anyone has done so successfully. Thanks!

My hubbys sperm improved 40% with suppliments, total change of diet (no more junk food!), limiting alcohol, no caffeine or hot baths. So all things are possible so keep at it!!:flower:

Hi, my hubby has normal sperm. But I still make him take supplements with the hope it will be even better. He takes WELLMAN, I heard that royal jelly is good for the sperm.
You also can improve your eggs - PREGNACARE Conception, coenzim q10 -Royal Jelly
-Maca
-UltraGreens
-Broccoli
-Berries
-Dark Leafy veggies
-Halibut
-Salmon
-Pumpkin seeds
-Sesame seeds
-Turmeric
-Ginger

or these.

GL to you.

Glad to hear that your hubby's sperm improved so much! Thanks for the support and encouragement!

If I were you I would keep on the supplements for 3 months then go for an IUI. They are not very expensive and they can get his good sperm where they need to go.

I really do think if he sticks to the supplements his #s will really improve but then you could still be waiting the average of 9 months to get pg. I wouldn't want to wait anymore.

Thanks for the advice. We've talked about doing IUI. We are planning to talk to a specialist in March if we aren't pregnant yet and IUI seems to be the best next step. That will be about 3 months of the supplements too.
