So I've been getting really bad round ligament pain for the past day and a half now.. At first it just felt like stitch in my right hand side, then it spread across my belly and I had a few sharp shooting pains and tightening/tensing of the stomach. So I rang the maternity triage at the hospital and they told me to come in. They examined me and baby and everything was fine, so they put it down to ligament pain.

I had to go to work today - 2-8pm. So I took some cocodamol and went in and it killed me! The pains I've been getting today are more central and lower, right near my pelvis. I can't do anything physical without it hurting! Even just getting up to go to the toilet hurts :( So I rang the hospital back and the midwife has advised me to put my feet up for 24 hours and try to book in to see the community midwife tomorrow and maybe arrange to go to physio if it continues. She told me to carry on taking cocodamol and just rest as much as possible and see how I feel same time tomorrow..

I feel like such an invalid! And I STUPIDLY feel bad about not being able to go to work, not only 'cause I won't get paid and we're really skint at the moment, but also 'cause I'm letting people at work down! :(

Anyone else getting this? Or had this before?? I need empathy! Haha..

Yep, I am suffering with it fairly badly myself. Just going to shop for groceries can be a painful experience. The pain has woken me up in the middle of the night. My doctor fitted me with a support band/belt that helps a little bit when I am on my feet for a long period, perhaps you can try something similar? It doesn't relieve the pain completely but it takes some of the edge off.
I am sorry that you are dealing with so much pain. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to call into work but you have to take care of you and your LO above all else. :hugs:

Yes it seems to go hand in hand with SPD. I see mw soon going to mention RLP is very painful.

Hi, I've been getting this too. I've bought a maternity support belt and when I feel it start to come on I put it on. Its hard to wear all the time as its quite hot at the moment. I find it lifts some of the weight away from the ligaments and supports my back. I've also been having a 'Mums to be' massage every two weeks which is helping the back pain.

I hope you feel better soon X

I'm going to have to get a belt eventually I fear. I've had this horribly since 6 weeks. Thankfully it isn't constant. But it takes my breath away and lays me out for the night.
