Anyone else get a really early guess around 13 weeks? They said girl, but we don't want to announce if it's going to change!

I would wait, identifying a boy is easier than identifying a girls parts especially that early ;)

I don't know how people do it. My doctor and sonographers will only do it 18 weeks plus... and even at 18 weeks they speculate it could be inaccurate because it is early. I am getting my gender scan at 19 +3 weeks. That being said. I would probably wait until a later time, just to be sure. I would be too nervous to go to team pink or blue before 18weeks. (and even after I know, just like with DD I will be nervous until birth that it is accurate. LOL)

We went for a private scan at 13+5. It was for reassurance after our nhs scan was a let down. It hadn't even occurred to me to ask about gender as I thought 16 weeks was the absolute minimum for accurate gender determination. The Dr doing the scan asked us if we would be finding out the gender, we said we intended to find out at our 20 week scan and she said she could tell us there and then. She said she was more than 90% positive it's a boy. We are waiting until our 20 week scan for confirmation before we start buying things and telling people. I can't wait to see if she is right!

Sonographer guessed girl at my 11 week scan. She said 80% sure and was usually right Over her 30 years experience. Sure enough she is a girl.

In France and in Switzerland they will tell you with about 80% accuracy if it is a boy or girl at your 12 week scan, so it is certainly not impossible. They always tell you that you'll need to reconfirm at your next scan but, in my experience with my friends there they are always right. I wouldn't make an announcement yet but they might be correct! I had a scan at 14+4 and they said boy and it was right, but boys are easier :)

I did the same thing, had a really quick and a little disappointing 12 week scan so booked a private one at 14 weeks to see the baby again. A few seconds into it the sonographer asked if I wanted to know the gender - of course I said yes! She said it's a girl! I'm still skeptical but she said she's never been wrong at 14 weeks and that it was very clear. I think some babies develop at different rates too, so I guess some are easier to see that others early on. Have fun and enjoy the experience!

Here is my 11+1 scan guessed girl and i also guessed girl going by angle of the dangle as it was pointing downwards confirmed at 18 weeks she was indeed all girl 😁 (pottyshot) xx
