Hi Everyone,

I just need to know if anyone else has this problem or if i am going crazy.

I am 24 + 5 and my movements are pretty much non existant. Im high risk anyway due to my first baby having lots of complications and losing him at 52 days old.

They seem to have got less and less, and im sure they were more noticeable at 20 weeks!! I keep saying this to the midwife and consultants as i am scanned every 4 weeks (last one was monday) and they say she is fine. All i get - no exaggeration - are a few bladder twitches in the morning, lunch and evening, that really is it. My son was soooooo active and with being ill i thought this baby would be so much MORE active! But nope!! :dohh:

Im having a girl if that helps. Does anyone else have a lazy baby?

Thank you xxx :flower:

(obviously movement reductions are a big concern and as consultants and midwives are saying she is ok i jst wondered if anyone else has this too)

Hi hun,

I am a bit behind you (22 and a half weeks) but I just posted about the same thing. I think I have a very lazy baby- she doesn't kick much at all, only really at night and its only a few taps. I very rarely feel her during the day!

In fact I am getting so confused I am wondering if I have even felt her at all! I must have done though cause I have definately been feeling taps.

My midwife said that everyone is different, so don't think just cause someone has had an active baby from 18 weeks, it doesn't mean there is anything wrong with your little one at all. You may just be having a lovely, placid baby. :)

My friend is pregnant with her second and she said that her first hardly moved at all, so much so that she kept having midwife checks cause she was so paranoid. (He is a healthy two year old now!) but with this one, it moves constantly, so I think it really varies between pregnancies x

There is a day between us and my babas movements have also slowed down, do you have a doppler when my bubs is quite i always listen and he is there loud and clear, if you are worried phone ur midwife hun..

Thanks Justthestart, its good to know that your friend had it too :flower: xx

Sglascoe - Thank you. Im glad you are having this too. Its just frustrating. I seem to call every other day and they doppler and say she is fine! I have to have a doppler because of before but they say not to use it in relation to movement as you could hear the HB all fine and not be! Yet they doppler when i go in!! :dohh: Luckily the scan was ok so just got to wait another 4 weeks!!! lol

Lets hope they get a wirggle on for us xxx

some people just od have lazy babies. some babies are only active at night when sometimes the mother doesnt feel the baby move with being tired.
also do you know whether or not youve got a anterior placenta? as this can cushion alot of movements and kicks so you dont feel them much or if at all. xx

aww i too have to have scans every 2 weeks, great isnt it seing your baby every fortnight, i would buy a doppler on ebay so easy to work hun, it will stop you stressing (which is not good for you) but will all do, hugs hun x

Its great for me to see her, i have to! I love it! I do have a doppler, it was well worth it and especially as i can monitor myself now! I worry so much, i jst need her to be ok xxx

aww i am sure she will be fine hun xx

Some babies are lazier than others. They say though that drinking something sweet and then resting and being very calm (lying in the bath or on the bed) should start them kicking - so if you are worried give that a try too (obviously you can't do that all the time though)

In general babies are most active when you are least active (which is why you feel it more at night or if you lie down to nap)

Thanks Tanikit :flower:

I have tried everything, drinks, ice, suger, swaying hips, all fours, laying still, on back, sex, music, all of which Max used to respond to but nothing!! :dohh: :haha:

I guess she is lazy. I just needed to know i wasnt the only one who is having this as it was starting to make me distrust the professionals xx
