I need some advice. I have been bf my son for 5 weeks, he has the occasional bottle of formula.
I have found it hard. Mostly because I have a 5 year old and a husband who works 13/14 hour days. The option to just sit and nurse for hours on end just isn't viable. For the last week or so I've been saying to myself to just give it a few more days but the more bottles he has the easier that idea seems to become. But part of me thinks that if I do stop I'll miss it. Even though some days I dread bf and i hate bf in public. I just don't know what to do!

My LO is 12 weeks old and I also have a 3,4,and 7 year old. I EBF and pump for her for when I go back to work. My husband works a 12 and 7 hour shift 5 days a week so I'm pretty much doing it alone. My motivation is knowing she will be alot healthier. I EBF my first for 7 months and my second and third for 3 months and my first has NEVER been sick with anything. I don't even buy formula and the cases that the hospital gave me I'm giving to a friend today because I know I'll use it at some point.

I think if you're unsure then that's your answer.

If you were happy with the choice to quit you wouldn't be asking the question. Only stop when you are totally ready.:hugs:

I don't feel like nursing takes any more time than bottle feeding. Not to mention the time mixing, washing, and sterizing FF! Maybe you can find a way to share the nursing time with your 5 year old? You could start reading with her or even start a linger book and read a chapter while nursing so it is something new and exciting for her. I don't think the BF in public is that big of deal. And I have always had the option to sit in my car or a dressing room if I felt necessary. I hope you find a solution that works! Maybe find a LLL group and see how other moms handle it?
