im ff and using Aptamil cartons. i opened one this morning and realised the carton seemed a little 'puffed' up but just thought it had been thrown about in the bags. i poured in a couple of ozs and started giving it to my baby. she had a bit then i winded her. i went back to give her some more and realised it was all clotted and had a bit of an aroma- i swear it wasnt like that when i opened it. now looking at it in the bottle, it looks half water and half clotted bits. ive got a good mind to bring it back to the shop but my dh got it on his way home which is not near where we live. im disgusted by this.

in the mean time, im worried ive caused my lo some harm :( is there anything i can do? im really worried x:cry:

Hay

I have no experience with this but if it were me i would probably phone either my health visitor or the Health Direct number (i can't remember what its called in the UK) where you can talk to a nurse or midwife etc straight away and they give you advice.

xxx

I agree I'm sure everything is fine but ring hv or nhs direct just for advise! Maybe give aptamil a call as well? Xxx

The milk was fine when I poured it in then after about 15 mins, when I looked at it, it was disgusting. I'm so angry xx

I would save the carton and call Aptamil, could be a problem batch and they would want to know the batch number. I'm sure your LO will be fine but it's still not very nice, I know.

I'd be angry too hun! The dates r usually really good on the cartons as well so it's odd! I use aptamil cartons sometimes so I'll be keeping my eye on them now. Bet it's put you off! Xxx

I haven't had a chance to call yet, I've got a feeling that perhaps there may have been a little hole in the carton as it did look puffed up, but they should still check them if theyre putting them on the shelf. The date was fine xx

I accidentally gave Eva off milk. Little different as it was the powder.
I bought the Aptimil powder as back up when Eva was born and I opened it when she was a few days old for a top up (exhaustion for me).
Eva has now had to be comfi fed due to my low milk supply, this started 14 days ago.
We still had loads of the powder left and used it for a couple days when I noticed it started to smell disgusting! Looked on side of box & it said to use within 4 weeks once opened..... Oops!
Eva was perfectly fine & she had a few bottles of that milk. Not grumpy in the slightest. I did run straight out to buy some more but my goodness didn't I feel bad!
