I hate using plastic things for our LO, but now he's drinking water and learning to drink by himself it seems sensible to use a plastic cup rather than a glass feeding bottle. I've got a Doidy cup that I use at mealtimes, but I need a cup with a spout that we can take out with us and that won't spill in the pram/car/anywhere else. Ideally I want a free-flow spout because the oral health specialist at our postnatal class told us that spouts with valves encourage baby to suck for too long on the spout, which doesn't do anything good for their teeth.

So, any recommendations for a baby- and planet-friendly cup to take out with us? BPF-free please.

Oh, baby is 8months old.

I use an insulated Gerber sippy cup that has a straw that folds back into the cup when the top is rotated- it looks more like a sports bottle and we haven't had leaks yet. I tried to find a pic online but didn't see it on their website. At home, I just take the valves out of Emma's sippy cups so they are free flowing but I can see that being a problem if I was trying to keep the stroller dry, etc :)

TBH, I just take the doidy with some water in a bottle. She doesn't drink on the go, we'll just stop, let her have as much as she wants to drink, put the cup away and be on our way again.

we've used the cheap tommee tippee with flip down spout before. I prefer these over straw ones we've had as they're easy to clean.

I have the 360Toddler cup - it is THE best non spill very easy to use cup ever! i have converted a lot of my baby friends and their babies love them too!

Its so easy because they can drink from any part of the cup - which is good for Izzy as she often likes to drink one handed so a spout was never in the right place!
Also with it being more of a cup it is good to get them used to no spout - ready for when they use a real beaker

I have 2 and love them! Got mine from Sainsburys

I found the toddler 360 great for Alex who wouldnt take any other beaker, but it leaks sooo much now ive had to stop using it :(

I couldn't get Sofia to drink from the 360 at 8 months, haven't tried since though because I left it in the UK for my niece.

I use one by Nuby, which has a flexi straw that bends into the lid. We use that when we're out and the doidy at home. She drinks a lot so I let her have it in the pram and carseat so she can help herself whenever.

we have a 360, i bought it after reading great reviews but my kids didn't take to it at all and it leaked for me

I have heard a few people say they leaked, mine only leaks if she bangs it really hard on the table while upside down and I have been using them a few months now. I don't know why some do leak and others don't. ♠

I bought the new tommee tippee one which has a flexible spout ( I know its early but I wanted her to play with one to get used to it) and its useless - it spill water everywhere when you turn it up.

I bought that one and had the same problem. Plus, she just won't drink for it; she sucks it, takes some into her mouth, and it just all falls back out again.

We've tried one from Sainsbury's that has a cow print on it, but I can't remember what brand it is.
