rectal bleeding?

sorry if this is tmi but i really need some peace of mind. After wiping i spotted some red blood on the tissue, naturally i panicked but after a couple more times i am now about 75% it was coming from the back and not vaginal, i know it can be quite common in pregnancy and i experienced this when i was about 7-8 weeks i just wondered how many of you have experienced this, im not going to do anything about it unless i get any pain or heavier bleeding, there is no point rushing to hospital in this snow unless i feel it necessary, i am also in hospital tomorrow anyway to get my bloods done so i am going to mention it. Just wanted to know if anyone could offer any advice?

I had some rectal bleeding the other week - quite a lot, but except that and some diarrhea there were no other symptoms and it ended up being a one off. Try not to worry and mention it to your MW the next time you have an appointment x

hey hun, i posted a thread about this about a week or so ago..its linked to piles, not always sore when your pooing but i had a lot of red blood and no pain, now i have pain when i poo n no blood lol i got Scheriproct suppositories from the doctor today n they usually clear them up in a day or so. I would def mention it at the hospital but it sounds like what i have x

yep, iv had this aswell. its the aul dreaded internal piles.
my advice is to treat them now with anusol suppositories before thy get any worse. x

Yeah i wouldnt worry hun, its down to the lovely piles! I get it everynow and again. Can happen when straining too. Oh the joys! lol

Yup, hemorrhoids or "piles", very common in pregnancy. My doc recommended more fiber (as well as Tucks wipes and the cream- Preparation H).

I am constipated with this pregnancy and had it too a few times.. Freaked out a few weeks ago thought I was bleeding, then realized it wasn't from down there.

i had this when been straining too hard with constipation, but if you're not straining then it must be internal piles maybe.

I have had piles since before pregnancy. I dont really ever have any pain with them. Just the bled which isnt often. I have had them checked and they are small. ANyway on 2 occasions i have had a toilet fall of blood. I litterallyt thought it was the baby for sure it was so much but it is obvously coming from my bum. It sucks but it is common to get them. I also have a tear in my bum (im given out lots of info tonight arnt i tmi) Its been there ages and allso causes a little spotting sometimes. Get yourself checked out hun, its not as unplesent as you think

Yup, I've had this before at about 20 weeks or so, it went away eventually, but its probably from hemorrhoid or anal fissures.
But I would tell your MW, just to be safe, although it seems to be pretty common.

If it continues, you'll probably just have to take sitz (I'm not sure if thats the name) baths,
in other words, sit in just enough hot (hotter than usual) water to cover the affected area for about 10 minutes or so,
but be sure not to touch your belly into the hot water.

I've never personally done it, but that's what I was advised to do if it persisted when I called the doctors.

I looked up this thread b/c I just had a really scary situation with a toilet full of blood after straining. I determined that it was not coming from the front, but still freaked out. I mean, that was a lot of blood. I have an appt. with MW tomorrow, so I guess we won't rush out to the ER now. I hope that's the right decision. Can all that blood loss affect the baby?

i had this a week or 2 ago, twice. it is likely linked to hemroids, as the other ladies have said. i've had them before and that was how it started. luckily haven't gotten them yet and hopefully the won't turn up (they hurt!). have you been constipated at all? baths in epsom salts do help.
