Reducing/Stopping Breast Milk Supply

Joke? Nah go for it ...could do with a chuckle :D I won't be offended ;)

Well I was gonna say to remind SC that sucking is a no no :shock:BUT if he wants to volunteer to stick his hands in the freezer for 10 mins, he can have your permission to be a human cabbage leaf.....I'll deffo stop there with the cabbage jokes..... x

I agree with the others hun use something cold and and take some painkillers
althou i went with out any and was in agony but try the cabbage everyone says it works x

Mine hurt more than my caesarian. But went down in a week (leaking continued till long after). I used to just sponge them down with a warm flannel (usually in tears ) It hurt so god damn much, i can totally sympathise. I didn't try the cabbage thing though, so can't say. Hope it gets better soon x

gosh this sounds painful :? didnt u have it the first time round, also how long will it last for then? till milks dried up ?
sry ur in pain :hugs:

Oh lmao I thought it was gonna be about something else ...for a second SC was going to try and pursuade me to see if I can keep my milk going just so he can look at my boobs

:rofl::rofl:

I think the second time around your body/boobs know what to do. With Amanda I was not as engorged as I was with Jayden and Chase. OMG, they were rock solid and I swear my once B size was well past D size.

I used to say to Dan, too bad I couldn't keep them. But he said they were too big. Yeah, well, look at them now. Too bad breast implants aren't free.

They're probably a bit bumpy and nobbly for a momento photo shoot then?? :argh:

Wobs try to let them naturally release in a hot shower..it was stimulate them enough to think 'oh she's feeding must produce more' but will take the ease slightly off them..i always had a hot shower just before bed which was a big relief..

Tell SC maybe he should try to carry them around, then he can talk about keeping them

Stan loved the engorgement phase as well.........really irritated me

Yeah, I remember that....ouch! :(
I couldn't even sleep...

Cold gel packs and cabagge leaves helped, also try and find a minute for a warm bath just to relieve the pain.

My friend word caggabe leaves the day her son was born and by 4 days she had no more soreness or pain ..might want to try that :)

Hi I feel your pain because when my baby was seven weeks old I got mastitis and it was AGONY. So be careful cos you don't want that!! I carried on feeding and have recently weaned onto bottles (this week I finished breastfeeding! He's 16 weeks now and I need to go back to work!)
Anyhoo, cos I was so scared of mastitis again I weaned REALLY slowly. I mean over the course of a month. I stopped a feed at a time over several days, before dropping the second then the third and so on.
Eventually I was just feeding in the morning and any night feeds, then i cut those too.
Thankfully I have had no pain and no mastitis! A bit of leaking but that's all and I now have not breastfed for three days or so and am back in my normal bras!
So my advice? Ultra slow!!!!
Good luck xxx

omg i've just seen this! i'm shittin myself about stopping BF now!! gona be a slow process i think!

As some others have said cold cabbage leaves really really help!

Although take them out before they get too warm and you start smelling like warm old cabbage

Apart from the smell they are brilliant :D

If you express only to relieve engorgement then this will ease the pain. I found that it did not increase milk supply.

I did this when i was stopping feeding, just expressing a little off when it was painful, ot didnt help to increase the supply. Just enough to make it comfy.

Hiya,

I've recenly stopped breastfeeding Hannah. I cut her down to just 2 booby feeds a day for 3 weeks, then when she got her teeth and started biting me I decided that it was time to stop so I just went cold turkey.

The first 12 hours was ok, then I started to swell and have lumps everywhere! I was leaking badly too. I think after about 36 hours was the worst pain. I couldn't pick Hannah up and I was bursting out of my bra! I was in agony.

Luckily it then started to receed but I am only just back to normal and its 2 weeks later now. I feel much more comfortable now and happy that I have fnally got my boobes back!
