Hi everyone!

I had my midwife booking appointment today and she's going to refer me to a consultant because my DS was born at 6lb 1oz which is considered less than the 10th centile for my height and weight. I'm pretty tall, as is DH but DS has always been perfectly healthy.

Has anyone experienced this? I'd like to know what additional checks etc they would do?

Thanks!

Don't really no sweet but I've had 2 small babies and never been referred because of them . My first was 6lb2 and second 5lb11

You'll just see a consultant in second and again third tri, and they will measure you and do a growth scan if they think its necessary. Not much they can do really, you can't order a certain size baby! I've been ref erred as my baby was small and I had pet, and it's just to look out for these things happening again. A lot of it is them being over cautious so I wouldn't worry too much. XxX

Thank you!

Btw I love your profile pic Kanga! Winnie the Pooh is responsible for my username too :D

Hi I'm consultant lead as my son was born weighing 4lb 6oz.
You get all your normal midwife appointments.
my consultant have been pretty much like midwife ones, check urine, blood pressure, baby's heart rate and measure bump. they'll talk to about having growth scans and when they are likely to do them, general how are you feeling? if you have a section with your son they'll talk to you about VBAC and possible C-section.
