Hey girls. Can anyone help? Went to Docs for our results yesterday and she's decided to refer us to the hospital to see a fertility specialist. HowLong does it normally take to get your appointment? And what should we expect at the first appointment? It's Carlisle hospital in Cumbria. Thanks

Wow. I can't believe no one has any advice or info to offer. I come on this forum for advice and support.

I am in Manchester so things may be different for u but it has taken us a year to be at the point to start ivf. Our gp referred us to st marys back in nov. We had appt with geanocology in feb, more tests at the fertility unit in june and then finally our 1st appt with a specialist last weeks. Everyones journey seems different tho. Think it depends on wht u have been referred x

Thank you so much for your post. Sounds like we've still got a long road a head of us.

Hi,

The NHS have an aim to have you 'seen' within 18 weeks of referral, i think my appointment came through in about 6 weeks.

Your first appointment is usually just information gathering, going through your history and any tests you've alredy had done. The consultant will then usually arrange for more bloods/hsg/sa etc if needed before your follow up appointment.

What treatment you may be offered and when varies widely and is area and patient specific
good luck
