reflux

my son has horrible reflux and 3 times so far he has choked on his spit up and i had to beat his back in order for him to throw it up and breath again!!! docs say he'll outgrow it... im going insane with worry! anyone else ever deal with this?

hiya my lo has reflux and choked twice, it was really scary but the doctor said they're really good at starting to breathe again on their own.I was so scared after the first time tho i didnt sleep that night.She's now 6 months and since weaning its got loads better.Have you been to doctors for medicine?We've had gaviscon and another one,neither helped us though.Hope your lo gets better soon x x

hes on prevacid and i thickin his feeds with cereal.... im so glad to here that yours has been doing better!!! babies shouldnt have to go through this!

my son was on prevacid from 5 weeks to 3 years old. 98% of children outgrow this by the time they are 2.

My sons spit up pretty much stopped when he was between 6-7 months old. When they can sit up by themselves it really helps.

Also make sure you are wiping out your babys mouth every time they spit up. I did but my son still has a lot of acid erosion on the back of his front teeth. Just and FYI.
