We are having a hard time getting Alex to take his bottles past couple of days.
Yesterday he took most of his feeds but fussed with them and got worse during the day only taking half at a time. He was also grizzly for yesterday morning.

First bottle today hes taken 2ozs and jsut plainly refusing anymore. hes not crying or grizzling, hes just sitting there content.

Help?

Happens to us sometimes. Ruby sometimes needs cajoling into taking her bottles, she's more interested in looking round the room, smiling or making funny noises!
I just do something like change her nappy, walk her round the house or garden then try again and she then usually takes it. If that doesn't work, just leave it and try again at the next feed.

I take it he's on the appropriate flow teat?

we are having this problem aswell and doc thinks its his teeth.im gonna ask hv who s coming at 2:00pm weve had this reduced feeding for a wee now and we are struggling to even get him to take 20oz a day compared to his normal 30-36oz. as you know zach isnt big either so im a bt concerned. Will let you know what health visitor says. good luck xxx

Mine said possible teething or a cold, i dont think its a cold as hes generally well in himself just the grizzling yesterday and not taking much feeds.

yeh same with us. he doesnt seem ill atall just not a happy or hungry boy. its like he take the initial bit of milk to get over that hunger and then stops. how much is alex having in 24hrs?

Id say 25-30ish for yesterday. Hes taking half bottles mostly then a bit more in bits n pieces for some bottles.
He took a full one overnight but that was the only full bottle out of his 5 a day.

Honestly it could be his age. He's more aware of his surroundings now and probably more interested in playing and looking around than eating. Have you tried feeding him somewhere dark and quiet so there's not as much stimulation around him?

i didnt really get answers. As long as they seem well, are putting on weight and have regular bowel movements and wet nappies they told me not to worry. just to keep on eye on it if he consistently starts taking below 20oz a day.

Yea, same here not really any definate answers. His intake is still okay, half a bottle or a bit more. Better than yesterday anyways.
