General chatter while we wait (and commentary on the "pull out method")

Ohh Rose she is so cute!! A tiny bundle of perfect! Huge congratulations!! That sweater is adorable, did someone make it?

Shae great news about your levels!!! Any updates on the contract front?

Ladies.. things are not good. My little lady is very unwell :nope: :cry:
She at 2 days old starting having seizures! We're still trying to figure out as her delivery although fast was fine. She pinked up fine and was breathing fine. So no birth trauma. But she's hooked up to every machine going. The only good thing is she is still breathing herself and there's no infection. It's just taking 1 day at a time as she improves and find out why it happened. But I'm distraught at not having my baby with me . I just feel so sad and numb . But I got to hold it together for her sake

Congratulations on baby Willow, she is so adorable. Sending all of my prayers for her health. I'm so sorry she is having seizures

Sending prayers @RedRose19 , I am sad to only just be catching up now. I hope you have some answers by this point. She sounds like a strong little lady :hugs: Just like her mama <3 Hang in there and feel free to vent on here if you need to

This is my poor baby right now  the one on the right was her Sunday with the eeg on and the left is today . She's doing abit better but still so hard to see her in wires and not being able to cuddle my baby when I want.

Oh poor thing going through this!! I hope they figure it all out quickly and she is sorted out. Still praying for this little angel. She is so beautiful and adorable.

Poor baby  she is still so adorable even under all those wires. Praying for her <3

On the TTC front, I did some math… we can’t have a baby this year if we ever want a house. Which we do. Daycare just 2 days a week is $12,000 a year, not to mention diapers, so we would have negligible savings for a down payment. We are both very upset about it, but it’s reality. So we decided that we’re going to spend the next year pretending we have way less money than we do in order to save up. I did the math out, and even if we have $1,000 of unexpected or miscellaneous expenses per month, we can save up $25k on two salaries in a year. We just have to be super strict. I have an Amazon addiction, so that needs to be fixed. And of course DH is currently unemployed, but the plan is that that will change within 2 months, whether it be with this coding company or with a construction company he’s worked for before whose owner loves him and would take him on as an employee without question.

She’s a fighter. Hang in there sweet girl and momma.

Shae 12k for two days is outrageous! But yeah A’s infant care (granted I used a kindercare 5 days a week) was like 25k a year. Childcare costs are crazy.

Rose she is so adorable, I can’t even imagine what you’re going through. Sending prayers and glad to see she seems to be headed in the right direction!

Yikes dobby, that’s so much money! I don’t know how y’all do it out there. My brother and his wife moved from the bay area but then went to outside of seattle and, cost of living-wise, just went from out the pan and into the fire. They pay an astronomical amount in daycare (for 2) plus their rental. Fortunately he works in contract law and she is a PA so they can afford it, but good grief! I can’t wrap my head around the amount of money they pull in.

Shae I just ugggghhhhhhh having to wait longer blah I do no like this news! Did you factor in ttc time plus 9 months being pregnant? That time right there is likely to be a year-ish…maybe you can still ttc once he gets a job opportunity…? In the meantime can he take on part time work or odd handyman jobs to fill in the gap?

Afm, timing contractions again -.- they got up to 3-4 minutes apart but have since started spacing out again. It’s still too early though so I’m trying to keep the panic at bay…but starting to feel like this little guy might be early like ds3 who came in week 38 (I’m 34 weeks as of yesterday). He is still plenty active and otherwise I’m ok, other than feeling freaking enormous and starting to have a nice pregnant waddle now due to pelvic pain.

I’m not sure if I verbalized this but wow, I am going to give myself so much grace on weight when this is all over! I just felt so fat and unattractive before getting pregnant. My husband tried to reassure me I was definitely wrong, but it took me being this pregnant and looking back on pictures to finally believe him! I wasn’t that bad….

Yeah 5 days a week is about $20k a year here. It’s nuts. But technically for 12 hour days, that’s $6.94 an hour, which is way less than I’d pay a babysitter per hour.

I knowwwww we don’t like it either. We did factor in 9 months of pregnancy, so if we do a fantastic job of saving over the next year, we can probably start TTC then. It’ll take about 2 years of rigorous saving for a down payment.
