Well after my lo only gaining 1 oz I'n 4 days and being shattered I crumbled and switched Connie onto formula and she has gained 5 oz I'n 2 days so good I last bf at 9 am on Sunday morning my boobs were very sore yesterday but fine today

If I squeeze boobs still have milk come out do u think I could latch her back ok I tried about 10 mins ago and ahe loved it I atill plan on feeding her formula but was hoping I could top up with breast

Am I being stupid can that even work have I left it too late :(

You might find you don't get enough of a supply back if you're going to combi feed to be able to BF as well as FF for long, as your milk may dry up after a bit, but any breast milk is better than none, so if you're aware that might happen and are OK with that, then just go ahead.

I stopped BF my first 3 children early on due to various problems. I never felt guilty, but later on, when I wasn't so exhausted, I really regretted it and wished I had kept it up. That was what made me persevere this time, though bleeding, cracked nipples, awful pain and mastitis three times. Do you think you might have regrets later on if you end up FF?

If she will still latch on, then latch her on and let her feed :) it's not too late, some women relactate after weeks and months of not BFing. If you really want to get her back to BFing, offer your breasts, then pump after feeds. You should probably get in touch with a bf support worker too, so they can keep an eye on everything (LO's latch, your technique, that sort of thing)

Good luck :flower:

If your still producing milk then you still have some to give. I had major problems with my nipples hurting so I decided to pump and FF. I of course dont make as much as I did when I was just BF but it doesnt seem to be going down too much. Since my nipples have healed and ive gotten better (had mastitis and other non related illness) Ive tried to get him on the breast but it seems he may have nipple confusion. I only do it if I start leaking or because I was told it could increase my supply since baby sucking and pumping are different. He no longer sucks as hard as he use to and makes the sucking movements he does with the bottle. He is 25 days old. If all fails just pump!
