ok ladies,
firstly thanks for reading.
here is our story.
DS was born 1st November, started off great, BF then topping up with formula as my supply was low due to blood loss. Supply continued to be poor and my hormones were everywhere so stopped BF.
about a week later all the drama began - he would vomit entire feeds up, was a very unhappy boy & then started to have bloody lumps in his stool. so we switched to nutramigen for cows milk protien intolerance.
He calmed down initially but then got way more fussy, fighting bottles, crying during feeds etc - turns out its the bad reflux which can be worsened on nutramigen as its a thinner feed - so now on ranitidine & carobel thickener.
Carobel gave him diarrheoa, so we are using way less than what is recommended now.
His stools are like clay and its very hard work for him, and he seems to be in pain alot of the time.
Its heartbreaking to see him like this and I feel if I can give him breastmilk it surely is going to be easier on his tummy.
Spoke with dietician today who advised ill have to go dairy free, and they will give me advice, but also asked the BF advisor to contact me (still waiting).
so all i know at this point is to get my pump out and try as much as I can - i need to find it first
but im looking at hiring one, is it worth it? and any other tips would be brilliant!
thank you
